Yeah......what business does a coach have in keeping his team in line?
How DARE him!!!

You call that a coach? Honestly, when we played the Vikings in 2007, I saw so many bad coaching moves, lack of moves, etc. that showed me Childress was garbage. A bad season this year and Childress was on his way out of the league, as a HC anyway. He should get his lips surgically enlarged so that he can kiss brett favres entire ass for getting him his extension instead of challenging the guy.

If I disagree with something or my boss says something that it untrue I will of course voice my viewpoint on it, you cannot have people walk all over you either, you have to stand up for what you believe in and if that gets you into trouble its okay. I for one work my butt off at my job and my boss knows it, I can get away with lots of things.

Heres a story, a tenant of mine came in to pay his bill the other day, he said he was tired from working he had along day, I asked him what he does for a living, he said he was a football coach, that he coached Farwell if I spelled that right and he plays on special teams and I think on defense for the Vikings, I asked him if he was still in contact with him, he said yes. I told him that I was a huge BF fan, and also asked if Farwell and him talk about BF. He said yes, all the time. He said that BF was a very down to earth guy, he doesnt care about the media, attention, he just wants to play football, and Farwell and some of the players go hunting and fishing with BF, he is also a cut up in the locker room. He is a great team mate. Farwell also said that Childress has a big head, that he blows things out of proportion and there is no talking to the man. I then asked him if he could get Farwells and BF's autograph for me, he said yes he could. He is going to bring it in next month when he pays his rent. It was a very cool conversation. I know some of you wont think this is cool, but it was very cool to me. But that just shows you what kind of coach Childress is. Again it is hear say, but thought I would share my story.

No, but you definitely get certain perks that others dont. You dont have to worry about being fired for making a mistake or being late to work one day or voicing your opinion as others might not.

When I was younger, I was the best at my job and had been around for a long time and I showed up 5 minutes late every day it seemed for a couple of years. But I was the ultimate team player and knew my stuff inside and out unlike the others and because of that, i was given managerial responsibilities that others were not. So while others got written up or fired for stupid things, I still had my job. Doesn't mean i was right to be late but I was young and irresponsible in that way.

Oohh.. So much hate! LOL

First off, Heather, thanks for posting!

Second.. There were 2 reported instances where it was 'REPORTED' that Chilly tried to pull/sit Favre. They were reported wrong. One instance, Chilly was pissed off that Favre checked into a pass play instead of sticking with the original run play, so Chilly stormed to Bevell and told him to bench Favre. Bevell said, (and I'm paraphrasing here) 'You can't do that.. That's a bad decision.. Let Brett run the offense.' In that instance, Chilly was coaching with his emotions rather with his head. In the 2nd reported instance (the most popular one), Chill told Favre that he was 'THINKING' about sitting Favre. Because Favre was getting his ass kicked (and he was.. Peppers was all over him). Favre argued his point. Like Zero and I believe LTF stated, if Favre didn't mention that to the media, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Poor PR move by Favre.. but it happens, and it's not the end of the world.

I heard there was a third time Chilly tried to pull Favre, but I don't know any of the details (or even the game that it supposedly almost happened).

Some of these posts are funny to me. Who cares whose telling the truth on what happened. I believe Brett Favre should have stayed in, they needed to get some kind of chemistry going down the stretch before the play offs started, and with Brett Favre staying in for the Bears game, they did that, and then having a blow out with the Giants will help to. The Giants game Brett Favre was pulled out in the 4rth quarter and he was fine with that. I think this was all blown out of proportion.

What I find funny, is your allegiance to ONE player no matter what he does, he's GOD. Now that is funny right there! Har, Har, HAR!

You're going to use the Giants game in your argument? Really? Game well in hand and he's still in the game and you're okay with that?

At least you're consistently kissing his ass no matter what he does.

(btw, the backup qb came in with only FIVE minutes left in the game, a game that was 44 - 0 against a team that everyone knew stayed in the hotel room)

I do like that the Vikings pounded their opponent. I don't like it when teams back off or play it soft. Play to win, that's what they did.

My question is this. How can any mature adult be okay with what Brett said after refusing to be yanked out of a game? Whether he's right or not, blasting his coach in public in the manner he did is disrespectful and only gave more credence to the stereo type of him being egocentric and thinking he is bigger than the HC, the team and the game.

The sad part? Some idiots fall for it to this very day. Face it Favre'ites, since Big Irv passed, Favre has changed and for the worse. I won't wait for your reply because I know it won't come with any objectivity as shown by posts from ya all in the past.

[Hey, that was my first Favre rant of the new year! woohoo] ;)

Zero, the bolded is soo damn wrong, it's stupid. T-Jack jumped in the game with 3 or 4 minutes left.

In the 3rd quarter.

Just so you know, there's 4 quarters in an NFL game. And in the event of a tied score by the end of the 4 quarters, there is a sudden death OT quarter. In now circumstance whatsoever is there a 3 quarter game. Just wanted to clear that up for you. =)

Now, go ahead and get pissy again, sweet heart.
