Childress caused this. Had he not had his nose up Favre's butt before he signed, MAYBE he could have had some control over him. But he pretty much handed the reains to Chilly.
NOW Chilly is surprised Brett Favre is not willing to let ANYONE tell him what to do? Should he be surprised???
He helped create this monster by allowing him to do whatever he wants. Good luck Chilly, pulling Brett back in now.

Childress was Favre's chauffeur when this whole relationship started. You're pretty much guaranteed to be the bitch if you start out that way, head coach or not. We've all known that Favre has been enjoying himself in Minnesota this season because he hasn't had to do anything he didn't want to, from training camp to handing the ball off to whatever... And Childress is only realizing this now?

Once again, Mass, you beat me to it. The problem started back in August, when Favre was brought in completely on his own terms.

This was almost inevitable in a way, because it was likely that Favre was going to have endurance issues, yet because he is such an NFL institution, you can't just take him out of a game without repercussions.

I am loving this.

Wow who is telling the truth?

But Favre refused to come out, and later told reporters that he had established that with Childress in "a little heated discussion."

Favre also made it clear he wasn't concerned about whether his coach was trying to protect him because his lone objective was "to win this ballgame. I want to stay in and do everything I can."

According to a source close to the Vikings, that version of the conversation was news to Childress, who was showering in another part of the dressing room during Favre's postgame media session.

Afterward, when a member of the team's public relations staff relayed Favre's comments to the coach, he met with the quarterback and essentially asked, "What are you talking about?

I talked with you about saving yourself. It wasn't about you playing or not playing (due to poor performance)." The two quickly resolved the matter, the source said, and there are no lingering hard feelings between them.

I'm not worried. Everybody in the media was talking about a schism before the season started, and now it's flared up again because of the poor performances of the Vikings and because Favre didn't sit out.

This team has been through worse, individually and as a team. Bearce are next.

Some of these posts are funny to me. Who cares whose telling the truth on what happened. I believe BF should have stayed in, they needed to get some kind of chemistry going down the stretch before the play offs started, and with BF staying in for the Bears game, they did that, and then having a blow out with the Giants will help to. The Giants game BF was pulled out in the 4rth quarter and he was fine with that. I think this was all blown out of proportion.

What I find funny, is your allegiance to ONE player no matter what he does, he's GOD. Now that is funny right there! Har, Har, HAR!

You're going to use the Giants game in your argument? Really? Game well in hand and he's still in the game and you're okay with that?

At least you're consistently kissing his ass no matter what he does.

(btw, the backup qb came in with only FIVE minutes left in the game, a game that was 44 - 0 against a team that everyone knew stayed in the hotel room)

I do like that the Vikings pounded their opponent. I don't like it when teams back off or play it soft. Play to win, that's what they did.

My question is this. How can any mature adult be okay with what Brett said after refusing to be yanked out of a game? Whether he's right or not, blasting his coach in public in the manner he did is disrespectful and only gave more credence to the stereo type of him being egocentric and thinking he is bigger than the HC, the team and the game.

The sad part? Some idiots fall for it to this very day. Face it Favre'ites, since Big Irv passed, Favre has changed and for the worse. I won't wait for your reply because I know it won't come with any objectivity as shown by posts from ya all in the past.

[Hey, that was my first Favre rant of the new year! woohoo] 😉
