Nonstop, where did you get those numbers from? 😛

lol

He got them from NFL Stats.... It is right there.

Now he did not mention that SeaBass ( Janakowski Oakland) and Kris Brown (Houston) were both 2 for 2 and 100% from beyond the 50.

(Nonstop took a number of Attemps of 5 or more over 50 yrds.)

Which is a fair number to draw a conparison from.

Three NFL kickers have attempted 5 or more field goals from 50 yards or more. They are Josh Scobee (2-6), Ryan Succop (2-5), and Mason Crosby (1-5). What exactly are you complaining about?

You're putting him in some great company there, lol.

Josh Scobee is 50% on long field goals in his career. He's just having a horrible down year right now. He kicked for 92% in 2007. He's kicking for 62.5% this year.

Succop is a rookie. A pretty good one at that, but even kickers usually have an adjustment period with the rush coming so much faster, the wind and what not. That said, the kid has been pretty good from short range. Not that great from far. But he doesn't have the leg strength Crosby has. Although he doesn't have a weak leg, either.

It's kind off like saying that Rodgers is a good QB because he plays as well as Eli Manning or Shaun Hill.

Like Raiderpride said, two kickers are 2/2. You didn't use them, as you only went for guys with 5 attempts or more, but still, even in that list Crosby has been the worsed of the 3.

That said, he has been kicking in some tough places. It's just that you'd like to see him hit those 50 yarders if he has the leg strength to kick 65'ers.

And next to that, the kick-offs haven't been that great either, so far.

And that noodle-leg Longwell was 4/5 and 3/5 when he attempted 5 or more 50 yarders.

just was thinking about something, didn't they try changing Crosby's kicking style in the offseason? Also heres a question what is so special to remember about Succop?

answer is he was Mr. Irrelevant in the draft this year 😛 remember that for trivia.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

As long as he keeps making the FGs inside of 50 yards consistently I'm fine. With his leg strength we at least have a shot at a long 50+ yard FG in crappy weather if we needed one.

I'm not sure, but I do know he was fond of how Jon Ryan held the ball. I remember that being an issue and many people overlook that, which is a mistake.

You also have to look at how long his field goal misses were. He missed a 49, 55, 55, 51, 52. He has a career long of 53 yards. So he has 2 attempts outside of his career long.

I don't know where his kicks are, but Lambeau seems like an extremely hard place to kick lately. Folk missed that one last week. It seems like people are always missing kicks in GB. I don't have the numbers to back up my theory though.
