I think one big problem is James Campen trying to teach a scheme he's never played in without a mentor.

I think we need to go back to Power OL ball. Right now. Screw the ZBS in every sense and straight up go with Power OL.

I agree, you can see that we are starting to shift away from it but I think Campen is gone after this season and we bring in a guy to put a power scheme in place. I miss the days of 2002-2004 where we use to just overpower our oppenents and run the ball down their throats with Ahman Green behind a Cliffy-Wahle-Flanagan-Rivera-Tauscher O-Line. We have guys who can play in both schemes but I think guys like Sitton and Spitz would be even better in a power scheme.

Line of duty:

-Fire James Campen
-Bring in a guy to put a power-scheme in place
-Sign UFA RB Lendale White
-Trade/Cut Ryan Grant
-Draft a blue-chip LT(Charles Brown-USC, Anthony Davis-Rutgers, Jason Fox-Miami are my favorites)
-Draft a Felix Jones type back in the Mid-Rounds to compliment White/B-Jack(Joe McKnight-USC, Brandon James-FLA, Michael Smith-Arkansas)

Damn I should be the GM!

The best case for a big name coach coming to GB would be Jon Gruden or Mooch. I think both have wanted to coach the Packers for along time, certainly Mooch who grew up a Packer fan.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

Mooch, wow, I have not heard his name in years. What is he even doing anymoore? Not saying that wouldn't be interesting, just wondering.

"coltonja" wrote:

Mooch won't come here and I doubt Gruden would either. (no real reason, just a feeling)

Steve Marriuci is a NFL Network personality of some sort nowadays.

I think they would, but Thompson wouldn't be the one making the hire IMO. Let's put it that way. If Mooch was hired, Favre retires the next day and his jersey is retired sometime that year. Guaranteed. 🙂 I've always liked Mooch. Thought he was great in San Francisco and really was put in a tough situation in Detroit by Matt Millen.

What he or Gruden could do with a talent like Rodgers and the offensive skill talent around him would intrigue me quite a bit.

I would love to see Bill Cowher coach the Packers. I think he would bring the same intensity to the club that Lombardi brought. Stuff needs to get done or we're looking at another Packer era like that of the Divine/Starr/Gregg/Infante ones.

Forget Cowher....we wants to be in Carolina. Capers? Dude looks like the game has passed him by.

Pathetic....bad team with good talent....my Sundays are no longer the Packers.

Cowher will bring more fire to the sideline. But he leaves a problem. He is a defensive coach, so we will have basically 2 DC with who at OC? So I would guess that Capers would be gone also (not against this idea). But what are we going to do on offense. Keep Philbin as OC or bring in someonw knew?
