Overall, I think some here are feeling very pessimistic and others less so - that's leading to some tensions, I think.

Agreed.. I think the first ray of sunshine that we are starting to correct some of these running (oline fundamentals, lack of a consistent pass rush,
playcalling to name a few) over the course of a game or two, things will start to brighten up.
Speaking personally, when watching some of the same fundamentals broken in 09 that were broke in 06,07 and 08.. it becomes hard to keep giving rope to this staff until they start climbing some.
That leads to one disappointed Packer fan that talks to much. ;)

Am I the only one here who has actually liked the playcalling the last few games? It's not like running game was going anywhere against Minnesota, and the playcalls in the passing game were very effective. We saw the screen game make a return, and half of Grant's yards came off of draw plays. In the game against St. Louis, the playcalling definitely worked in our favor -- McCarthy stayed with the run attempts and it helped open up play action and keep things balanced.
I understand that we haven't seen enough of the slants, but it isn't as though a few passing patterns are cure alls for our offense. I hope I don't stand alone in thinking the playcalling has been pretty good the last two games.
I'll need to see more of that before I give a ringing endorsement for McCarthy, but I at least like to see a little return of screen passes.
