What we need to do to stop Peterson is put up the first 14 points and let Childress do the rest.

He will panic and Favre wants it to bad to have the patience to grind their way back into the game.

Peterson will become a non-factor if we can jump out to a two score lead. Chilly can't help himself when they get behind.

This would be GR8!

I hope it happens, our offensive line could gain a huge shot of confidence if the Packers were to jump out to a 14-0 lead!

Alright, I was trying to think back and looked at some stats and the Cleveland Browns game kind of skewed my post but I am trying real hard to think back and swear that the Browns held Peterson down pretty well the first half of football. Correct?

@ Cleveland-
25 attempts for 180 yards
AVG 7.2 yards,
3 TDS.
So, I am pretty sure he had a bad 1st half against them. he had a 64 yard (sick ass) run in the second half and that really tacks onto his stats. He made the players look foolish.

@ Detroit-
15 attempts 92 yards
AVG 6.1 yards
1 TD
I don't know if Detroit's running defense can be marked as AMAZING but c'mon....if Detroit can hold him to under 100 yards so can we...period.

vs San Fran-
19 attempts for 85 yards
AVG 4.5 yards
0 TDS
Zero touchdowns folks. The man is not as untouchable as many make him out to be. HE CAN BE STOPPED and if our defense wants to, they have done it before....THEY CAN STOP HIM.

Our offense needs to come out strong. We stop Adrian Peterson in the 1st half and put up points (not 3...not 6...not 9) but like 2 or 3 touchdowns and you can mark this game over.
The one reason the Vikings came back from halftime was because all the scores were close. The Vikings did not have to abandon the run game come the 2nd half. Brady Quinn threw for 205 yards that game...I believe Aaron Rodgers can if Quinn can.

I know I make it sound easier than what it is but I think the Packers are going to make it happen.

EDIT*

To add-on to my post. Halftime leads of each game.
Cleveland - 3 point lead
Detroit - 3 point lead
San Fran - 1 point lead

You don't have to abandon the run with those minor leads.

Back to basics. The biggest key will be the Dline play. I hope not to see any 2 man fronts this week. Jenkins, Pickett, Jolly, Raji need to hold the point and eat the blocks of McKinney, Hutchinson. Peterson gets most of his yards off the left side, or cutting back from a run to the left.

Those three up front are the key. Then it is Matthews/Poppinga and Kampman having good contain. Making Peterson have to step a couple yards deeper into the backfield to get around them, giving the CB/S/ILB time to get to the edge in pursuit.

Finally, is not to bounce off. When making contact, don't let go. Even if being dragged, help will arrive.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

To stopping peterson
1 Time of possesion GB must I repeat must win this aspect of the game
2. If GB gets turnovers the must convert them to tds no FG if at all possible.
3. Gang takling and stripping. Peterson does put it on the ground.
4 Hit him low hit him hard.
I am therefor I think.

Al Harris knows something about this.

I always thought it was funny that Vikings fans considered that a dirty hit. Uhh... if you run upright as fast as you can through the middle, you're going to take hits like that. It's a risk that goes along with his play style.

#3 is a very good point.

I couldnt agree more, clock management should be the easy key, but most times its easier said then done! Also we need TD's tonight, set the tone and set us apart!

I also agree that the D-Line needs to be HUGE!!! plug the holes and let the others fill in and make plays/tackles. I think it is basic football but he can be stopped!
