The move makes perfect sense.

Bush probably is the better special teams player. And given our OL and S problems, we're going to need special teams play more than ever.

Very surprised with this. Let us not forget that we should get Bigby back in a couple weeks and Martin might be ready to go against the queens. Maybe this was a decent long term move?

Well lets just wait and see if the new guy can adapt to the scheme quickly to see what can be done, so whose starting on Sunday is my question? Martin and Bush? or is Collins' injury not a big deal? either way if it is Martin or Bush im kinda worried we will see

I think this is a matter of Rouse being unreliable as hell. Sure, bigby isnt much better, but Rouse has never in his career been healthy to start for more than 3 games in a row. He gets one start here and is injured again? I think they are just cutting they're losses on the guy.

Do i think its a great move for next sunday? No... Could it be a good long-term move? Yeah, i think so, give a roster spot to a player who doesn't get injured every time he has a chance to contribute.

From a Colts website:

Of that group, it sounds like Giordano might be worth signing. From Stampede Blue:

The last few seasons, one of the best special teams players on the Colts was safety Matt Giordano. Giordano was also one of the fastest players on the team PERIOD, and he had a knack for delivering big hits (like the one he placed on a Bears tight end in the Super Bowl).

Yes! Another special teams player! We're not going to be mean in the trenches, but our special teams will be the envy of the league. Maybe we can start punting on 3rd down to keep our franchise QB healthy.

I'm excited about Giordano (and not just as a special teamer, he can actually play safety). However, the decision to cut Rouse is another in a long line of head-scratchers. Why keep him over Smith in the first place?

the big hits part was said the same thing about smith and we easily cut him.

but this thread is about rouse - and to tell you the truth his last years performance I wasnt happy with (whenever he got on the field I was like errr); this year he wasnt doing too bad but we could do better IMO. Just hope this guy is.

Now time to nab woodhead off the jets practice squad (hint hint)

^^^ that's true he is.....maybe people were just overhyped due to his preseason performance and not really evaluating his play? because if he cannot be a starter with the rams then that's just sayin somethin
