personally I would boo becuase I interpret his actions to be at least partially motivated by a personal vendetta against the packers. I consider it very disrespectful of the team that treated him so well, thus, I don't think he deserves any respect from me while he's wearing a viking's uniform.

I also think the Ted Thompson mask idea is pretty funny.

First off the NFL is just a tv show I dont get why people would get so worked up over favre playing for the vikings. We did fire him after all. If you guys were fired from your job at microsoft, would you have a clean conscience about working for apple if they offered you a job? I would.
If it is for revenge sake I think it will blow up in his face. The williams wall faces a 4 game suspension and that could mean the difference of a 12-4 team going 8-8. I think those two are way more important than the singing of favre this year. Its AP's offense afterall.

At the end of the day, you have a guy thats coming back that drowned and killed dogs and people are more up in arms about some guy that for the most part just wants to play some football. Even if you believe he's ONLY coming back for revenge and thats it. Who cares, hopefully the Packers beat them twice and the Vikings go 0-16 and his "revenge" fails. Because if you think he's washed up and useless, then that is what will happen, he will fail and you will be happy.

To put things in perspective, Donte Stallworth drove drunk and killed a person and he will be in the league next year. Plaxico Burress endangered the lives of hundreds of people and will be in the league in a couple years. Pacman Jones... um, where to begin. Michael Vick watched as his friends hung dogs from trees.

When you put things in perspective, its not that bad, especially when you consider what he did for this franchise and the NFL.

I smell a lot of bs in this thread like those saying that they've never booed before. Yeah right....

Everyone has and there isn't anything wrong with it. You boo the opposition and cheer whoever is on your side. Just like you boo the official when he makes a bad call that goes against your team.

It's called being human and having emotion.

It's not classless. Classless would be wishing injury or worse yet cheering if he got hurt. Packer fans will not boo if Brett Favre gets hurt when they play. That I guarantee you. They didn't boo Adrian Peterson when he got hurt at Lambeau and they never will if he gets hurt.

They'll boo them at introduction though because they're Vikings.

You want to know what's classless? Eagles fans booing Michael Irvin in a stretcher. That's classless.

I do agree that this will blow over in time though, but there shouldn't be anything wrong with booing.

Another thing that is getting to me is this myth that Packer fans owe it to Brett Favre to cheer him on and buy his jerseys from other teams. What? Packer fans don't owe him anything. Favre is playing football and has given Packer fans all kinds of great memories, but he's been will compensated for it.

"porky88" wrote:

Agreed on all of this - especially that last bit. Chances I'll purchase a Vikings Favre jersey = non-existant. Never happen. Hell, as it is I'm faced with the need to purchase a non-Favre Packers jersey, and I can't decide between Woody and Grant - probably should be Woody.

But I digress - boo the man if you want to. He plays for the other team, does he not? Brett Favre will be cheered @ Lambeau again one day, I'm sure - after he retires and tempers have cooled. Until then, and as long as he's got horns on his helmet, boos are perfectly appropriate. This isn't friggin' golf, it's the NFL.

btw i dont understand if people know where i'm coming from, but i would cheer him during intros just because he is a Packer Legend (no denying that) but once the game starts he is a viking plain and simple. It's not like i would be cheering for him to throw tds.

Just got back from the Packers Bills game. Saw a lot of people wearing favre attire. Purple and white shirts whith #4 and Judas or drama queen where the name favre would usually be. Saw a group of people with favre jerseys with his name taped off and and had the words Douche Bag written in. They got big cheers and applause from the crowd. My favorite was a women sitting in front of me had an authentic favre jersey and cut the letters out of her highness's name so only the A and R were left. Also cut holes in the 4 so it looked liked a 1. I work at all the Packer home games and saw alot of anti Ted Thompson stuff last year. Haven't seen any of it this season. The actual Packer fans have spoken.

That is your right and there isn't anything wrong with that at all. What is kind of nitpicking is saying it's classless, immature, or whatever to boo. It's not. Fans are showing an emotion and they should. They're humans and we all have feelings for the most part. Some express and some stay quiet. It's their choice, but you can't knock anyone who stands up and cheers or stands up and boo. There isn't anything wrong with that. It's not that big of a deal.

Now booing an injury for any player for that matter or throwing stuff on the field or whatever anything that is obscene is classless, immature, etc....

Booing is just part of going to an opposing teams stadium which Brett Favre will be doing when he come to Lambeau.

When he finally retires, he'll become a Packer again and he should honor fans and go out as a Packer by having a ceremony and Packer fans will honor him back.

I don't hate him now, but I don't love him now either. He's simply another player in the great game of football, and because he doesn't play for my team anymore, I choose to ignore him until he's relevant (like when we play the Vikings).

"djcubez" wrote:

I agree with this. I used to love the guy and now I don't. It sucks that he's a big joke to so many people now, because he really was one of the best to play the game. Something similar happened to Michael Jordan. He's the best every to play the game, but every time he came out of retirement it got a little bit more ridiculous. Do I feel personally betrayed though? No. I have to save emotion like that for something else, and I am an emotional football fan.

I wouldn't boo Favre when he runs on the field (I don't boo at all during games, even at the refs) but I wouldn't cheer him either. I'll definetly root against him though, just like I root against everyone else in the NFC north who isn't a Packer.

I don't understand why some people don't understand how we can not "love" Brett as a Viking.
I will ALWAYS appreciate what he did during his time as a Packer. But that does not continue as he is a Viking now, one of our most hated rivals.
I do NOT want him hurt, but i don't want him to win, either. Cause if HE wins, the VIKINGS win.
I'd feel the same if T-Jackson was QBing the Vikings. I'd want HIM to do badly too.
I am a PACKER fan.
I won't BOO BF, i will CHEER him. (When he throws INTS or gets sacked!)
