It is so interesting to see how close the contracts came to the slots last year.

The big thing is that there was no SERIOUS deviation through slots 1-16 (mor is too big a pain my ass)

So there is going to be an escalation, we all know that, but you can see what would happen if we start getting guys getting paid "out of slot" beyond the 8 slot.

OK fellas--- Here we go. The Packers will be "pro-active".

The 9 slot last year paid 3.8 million per year, with 2.6 million per year guaranteed.

The 3 slot this year looks like around 12 million per year, with about 5.75 million guaranteed...at least...the contract that the 10 slot is looking for.


Pay the man.

But Crabtree isn't going to get that money.. any sane GM, Agent and player knows that isn't going to happen.

Crabtree has less of an argument than Ryan Simms and Kevin Williams had in the Viking draft card issue..

I seriously hope we (Raji's agent, the Packers and Raji himself) aren't waiting for that deal to get this deal done, otherwise we all better go buy a box full of Snickers.

Sedrick Ellis He got 5yrs 49 mil That is almost 10 million a year

compared to the 9 slot, that got 6yrs 23 mil - or 3.8 mil per yr.


It is certainly not as simple as many seem to think.

We aren't dealing with the reality of what Crabtree will or will not get.. We are dealing with the possibility and or FEAR of what he might get---If those clowns (SF/Crabtree/agent) are actually fighting in any way over this...

He may be leaving, say, 6 slot or 7 slot money on the table, in the minds of any prospective clients next year if Crabtree gets 7 or 8 slot money.

The 9 slot is an OLB though. It makes more sense to me that they would use the 7 slot DT to go off of so don't be surprised if that's the kind of money they are looking for. Something like 5 years 50mil with 20m guaranteed.

Sign the bastard to 1 year 7 million and say earn your new contract lol, all those greedy bastards don't need more. 😛 More players need to just start being there own damn agents and i bet we would see alot lower contracts because part of the contract money wouldn't be going to the agent.
