How I goy "my" fity dolla back, plus interest...sorta.
It wasn't by drinking rot gut beer.
I drank rot gut soda, instead.
Some might remember I posted about paying only .999 a gallon for gasoline several (seems like a long, long time ago--definitely pre-$4. + a gallon era) months ago.
Our local grocery store gives you discounts on your fuel with your bonus card--- maximum discount is .90 per gallon...that is how I got that gasoline once for .999.
The store ran a couple of promotions the past ywo weeks. One of them was like 800 "points" if you bought x amount of meat. (wife did that)
The second one was you buy their "house brand" 12 packs of soda and you get X amount of discount points. Allowed to exceed the ,90 a gallon max. (wife did that, too)
We have had the discussion on this forum about what is acceptable to bring into the house regarding name brands and "house" brands...
Soda is universally accepted as a "name brand" only item. Well, maybe not in your house, but it is here.
There are, every decade or so, exceptions. Here are the names of the sodas I have been drinking for the past two weeks.
Sun pop grape
Rally Cola
Main Street root beer
Main street Cream soda
meh.
Today was authorized by wife to fill-up gas tank day. When she gave me the "number", I almost shat myself. I have mentioned the car situation, but I also have a couple pick-ups--you know, the kind that have two tanks and get like shit gas mileage? As in snowplow trucks. As in, too cheap to put gas in unless it's snowing or home depot/ mulch etc. trucks. As in these trucks gas tanks might rust out because cheapskate owner never fills.
Just take a good look at this receipt. I classify this receipt as the ultimate in cheap-skate pornography.
Blew by fity dolla in savings like a freight train leaving a hobo :thumbleft:
30 gallon max. Major miscalculation..I'll work on that. (I had a shoehorn out to get that amount in.)
Gonna have me a Main Street root beer to celebrate.
