I also hate when people act like it wasn't right of Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy to question his dedication to playing football after he freakin retired and then waited out most of the offseason to decide to maybe return then finally do so... wtf

I don't have a problem "questioning" his dedication. I have a problem with them not doing what was best for the 2008 team and in the meantime butchering the end of a legends career.

You want to finish your career here?
Favre: "Definitely. If in two years, say, they want to trade me, I'd probably walk away. Retire."

So you seriously still think that Favre would step in and play DE? Or does he just put his hands on KGB and/or Cullen Jenkins and have them miracelously recovered?

I'm glad that I'm not the QB on your team when they're losing.

Ok, great and that begs this question.

Did Ted seriously think that A-Rod was going to step in and play Def or miraculously heal those players?

The problem is Ted didn't know about the Def. struggles we were going to have or the injuries at the time he made the decision.

I'm really not getting you here.

You say that Favre might've gotten us in a position to battle for a play-off spot. You also imply that Rodgers didn't. I say that the struggles of the team where mainly because of weak D-line play and you come out and say that Ted didn't know that the defense was going to struggle when he made the choice to let Favre go. Am I missing something?

The original point was Favre was the better choice, or at worst equal, without all the drama, in 2008 over Rodgers.

We had numerous chances to win at the end of games so it's not so outlandish Favre would have pulled out a few of them where A-Rod choked. Is it a certainty, no, but it is likely.

lol, I always kinda get the feeling that Brett decided during the offseason that he wanted to come back and play for Minnesota even before the whole mess and figured since GB drafted 2 QBs they would just release him. But when he came back Ted had enough cap room to call his bluff.

(Just a fun little conspiracy I dreamed up not serious)
