Sad, sad news. I hope playing winning Green Bay Packers football allows Collins to take some solace in life without his father.

This also makes McCarthy's comments even more interesting that he thought it was a business issue as to why Collins wasn't attending. Maybe he wasn't informed at the time he made those comments? I don't know of any other reason why McCarthy would contradict what Collins said given the seriousness of what happened.

Actually, I was just thinking about this as well.

To me, it speaks to MM's strength as a HC, to care for his players. He no doubt knew about this. In fact, he said he's been in contact with Nick at the Rookie orientation, but to give Nick some privacy I think Mike intentionally played the issue off as being a contract issue.

That's class, nothing short of what one should expect from a HC.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Nick Collins.

As a side note, I did not realize Nick had been travelling between GB and FL last year. Props to Nick for his performance and professionalism ... his achievements last year look a lot more impressive considering his circumstances.

I figured what was true would come out sooner or later, and i believe in trying to find out the facts before jumping on anyone.

As far as the "media" goes. There once was a time where they reported the news. Now, if they don't know, they just make crap up. There is almost no difference between the "media" and the "National Enquierer" today.
It's sad.
