I know it's been awhile, but this game is still chapping my ass a bit.
Packers said they'd roll with the highs and the lows of Anders Carlson. I was on-board through the end. Let the kid have a season, it's not like this was a Super Bowl window season.
AND THEN IT KIND OF WAS.
I didn't give Packers much chance vs 49ers.
AND THEN I WATCHED THE GAME.
And dammit, dammit, DAMMIT! The Packers knew Kingsley Enagbare had ACL or something severe, so why not put him on IR and bring in a veteran kicker?
I mean, I guess he was 20-20 on FG's 39 yards and less, but were they really going to let the ...well ... I guess they were gonna let the kid kick a potential game winning FG if it came to that.
I just think after destroying the Cowboys PLUS basically having a roster spot open, you bring in a veteran kicker who can do better than 7-13 on FG's 40+.
Yes, I know, Packers didn't lose because of the kicker, I get it, we all have brains and know that. I just feel his 40+ FG's were a glaring weak spot and would have liked the Packers to use that 53rd spot on someone to shore up for remaining games when the roster spot became open.
So damn frustrating the defense couldn't get 49ers off the field without giving up points. I actually thought with how much clock 49ers were eating up, we had a fair shot for a win. 🤦🤦
