Why Barry needed MLF to wake him up, is beyond me.

It seems to me that he doesn't play to win, he plays not to lose.
Which is a recipe to lose. Like we did in London.
Of course only time will tell whether or not what Barry said was in fact "coach speak" meaning he's saying what he thinks the media wants to hear, or if he's really going to change and give the defense a real chance to win some games .

I think that's what Yooperfan was saying.
How many times have we heard coaches say "We will get it fixed", only to see nothing get fixed.

What I don't understand is why it took 5 games for Barry to get to the realization that "Duh, may be we shud tri sumthin diff-a-rent!"
I think most of the fans on this site had come to that realization weeks ago.

I think we've given five games for Rasul at slot. We've seen it's not working as I define it. Not working meaning it's not improving from week to week or showing signs of improvement. Rasul got his contract based off what he did on the outside, so why re-sign him just to put him inside? This whole putting the best 11 on the field is idiotic. You put the best UNIT of 11 on the field. If that means rotating Stokes and Rasul on the outside, so be it. It keeps them fresh. Or start Rasul and Jaire and Stokes spells either one from time to time. Keep them fresh.

This is what has irked me for long time. Packers defense is giving receivers the 3rd most cushion before the snap in the NFL, and, along those lines, allowing the highest completion percentage.

If that's on PFF, then I swear their must be areas I haven't seen on there, despite looking for new areas lol 😂

Though honestly, attempting to think of solutions outside of the box, I kinda wondered about the idea of Savage at nickel and Alexander or Stokes as a deep FS, in the role of Earl Thomas. They got the speed for it... and I think (I don't know, but I think) Savage might be the best for for the slot (well, Alexander is the best coverage wise, but they're too worried about him getting banged up in the run gap to put him there).

When your own head coach and even the fans see flaws in your system and u are FINALLY going to fix it after 6 weeks, thats very troublesome and worrisome to have that type of coach on your team

This team is a debacle right now you have a defensive coordinator that can't make adjustments, you have a head coach that is afraid to yell at his QB because he won't run the ball, as Rodgers has stated they need to air it out more. Until Matt gets control of this team it will not go well. Simple fix on defense you have 3 studs at CB put Alexander in the slot and let Douglas and Stokes man the outside, which they did a great job at last year. More tight coverage and blitz the crap out of the offense. The linebackers are fast enough to cover the running backs, why sit back in a damn zone where we have proven over and over again that these guys can't get the concept of handing players off thru the zone. And on offense, you tell Rodgers to run the offense right or you bench his ass and put in someone that will. Rodgers is not the Packers, even though he thinks it is. Simple fix and with that, we might split the next 6 games.

We will still get toasted by the stampede in Buffalo.

The talk with Patriots is if that guy plays well again, they will consider supplanting Mac Jones who was first round pick. Or at least they'll delay Jones return until he's 100%.

If it was Brian Hoyer, that's different. He's a "proven" commodity to be a floating non starter. But that Zappe kid just needed an opportunity.

So, let's pump the complain train about what backups do and use our brains to understand they need opportunity.

Oh, I also wanna point out when someone new comes in and plays well. That's usually because the defense is rigid and cannot adapt to someone they didn't scout.

That said. Joe Barry sucks. 😊
