Like i said in another thread, we played against offenses missing their key starters and rookie/ 3rd string QB aside from the Vikings who put 27 on us. And like i said before, this D will be exposed for what it really is vs the Bills. Theres always context to these things and i dunno how u cant see that.

I think that whole 3rd string QB stuff is garbage. He's third not becaaie of talent. He's third cuz lack of opportunity. A lot of good and great QB were third at a time. Lots of players. The talk with Patriots is if that guy plays well again, they will consider supplanting Mac Jones who was first round pick. Or at least they'll delay Jones return until he's 100%.

If it was Brian Hoyer, that's different. He's a "proven" commodity to be a floating non starter. But that Zappe kid just needed an opportunity.

So, let's pump the complain train about what backups do and use our brains to understand they need opportunity.

Oh, I also wanna point out when someone new comes in and plays well. That's usually because the defense is rigid and cannot adapt to someone they didn't scout.

That said. Joe Barry sucks. 😊

Third stringer, but he didn't look like a scrub out there. Kurt Warner was 4th on our depth chart. Bart Starr, the true GOAT was a 17th round pick.

And I had to look it up, 17th round back then, at the 200th pick. In today's draft, the 200th pick would be the late 6th round.

Also, bonus fact which I didn't realize, the NFL has a #1 draft pick lottery system... as a bonus pick.

This was the tenth year that the first overall pick was a bonus pick determined by lottery. With the previous nine winners ineligible from the draw, only the Chicago Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and Pittsburgh Steelers had an equal chance of winning.[5] The draft lottery was won by Pittsburgh, who selected defensive back Gary Glick.

But keep in mind, it was against a 3rd string QB that wasn't even slated to play. Thus, he came in cold, most likely thinking he would be in the bench all game.
Instead, he comes off the bench and picks us apart.
That's what is so scary.

This is the disadvantage at times because when qbs start out thinking themselves. Or like our guy is that needs the stats for the glory
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I did like seeing the CB's playing up a lot closer to the WR's. I also liked the few blitz's I noticed. I didn't watch much of this game. I was getting my butt kicked by my 12 year old home theater surround system throughout the game. I took a break during 2nd quarter and the Packers looked uninspired so i went back to tinkering.

Plus, I imagine it has to be frustrating to our defense to be getting the ball back for our offense over and over, only to see NO production and another 3 and out and have to go back onto the field. They had to be physically tired as well.

Joe Barry Promises More Aggressive Approach in Secondary

I wonder how Barry knew the Jets Secondary was going to be so Aggressive that he could promise it...

Either way he was right... Jets DBs were very aggressive.

I absolutely love the adjustment nature of this defensive scheme, but I have no faith in the current play caller to maximum it.

My understanding is Vic Fangio is consulting with the Eagles... if he's under contract, we can't offer him a job, but I'd reach out and see if he's under contract, if not, I'm bringing him in... and even if he's under contract, I might try buttering him up to hire him come the offseason.

And usually I'm accused of making excuses for coaches and not quick to fire them, and I like Barry as a coach, but not as a play caller or to make quick adjustments.

Another name I would look out for, if the Chargers release their head coach Brandon Staley. Of course, does he know how to get it down without studs DT Donald and CB Ramsey, but considering all the other questionable pieces that they worked with, I'd give him a chance.

He is an outstanding defensive mind and motivator...I would love to see it.
