I can not even begin to define my specific joy in how "The 4 Year Plan" has unfolded in the path to the Super Bowl.

Ted Thompson is killing me. I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, bound myself out of bed and race to the computer to see what "The Einstein Of The NFL." might have done while I was sleeping.

This Draft has confirmed and solidified my 4 Year Faith and Belief that Ted Has A Plan.

"Bite Off More Than You Can Chew... Then have the guts to chew it. Plan More Than You Can Plan... Then do it."

That is a quote that has Ted Thompson all over it.

He bit off more than many thought he could chew when he drafted Aaron. He bit off a great deal more than he could chew when he sent Brett packing..... Oh and he chewed it.

He has been chewing it. He also has been planning. Planning more than he can plan, and then "Doing It."

Now.... He goes with what may be the best part of the 4 Year Plan... He switches gears, does not trade down, but trades up, overhauls the "D" and has built the next Super Bowl Champions.

This team is going to jell. They are going to have a great room under the stands of Lambeau, and will have a hell of a time in Miami.

This is the year. I have been preaching it for years.

Oh, and it will catch the NFL World by surprise.... But it will not surprise "The Einstein Of The NFL"

The man is ahead of his time.

Get ready for a BIG SURPRISE Packer Fans...

Get ready for the 4th year of a 4 year plan.

Sort of reminds me of the intro to the Packers' draft review by bleacherreport.com:

With everyone in awe over Bill Belichick's marvelous ability to gather four second-rounders, the rest of the NFL was amazed that Ted Thompson was actually trading up for a change.

While the change of direction would have normally been accepted in the past, trading a second-rounder and two third-rounders for one pick didn't seem to sit particularly well with the Packers faithful.

However, if you look closer, Thompson was pulling off quite possibly the greatest move of this year's draft.

After Green Bay stood by and watched other teams sign marquee free agents, swing blockbuster trades, and trade up early in the draft, Thompson was quiet and restrained.

He had a plan. And whether we like it or not, this man is a genius.

Yes, the very man that drove Brett Favre out of Cheese Country, the same guy who only blinks twice an hour, could stare a cat into it's deathbed, and is always known for collecting picks rather than giving them away.

Regardless, Thompson has proven his worththat is, if you believe what I believe: These prospects are quite possibly the best group of the entire NFL Draft.

I still can't believe people really wanted to spend the 9 pick on a WR... Our run defense was terrible last year and some think the best DT in college wasnt a good idea? SHeesh

Agreed.

I would have been pissed had we drafted Crabtree. Granted, I hope he does tear it up in SF because most of my football following friends here are Niner fans and they're cool people, but the upgrade would have been minimal.

The simple fact is that our run defense is terrible (27th in the NFL, that is a FACT, not opinion). When I'm an opposing Coach and I see the team I'm playing against can't stop the run...

Whoever says not picking Crabtree with the 9th pick has no football knowledge at all and obviously never watched a Packers game last year.

Good job R.P. , got me all fired up and the season needs to come nowwwwww!!!!

My mom always said 2010 was the next year we'd win the Super Bowl since we lost to the Broncos. Kind of funny.

I hope your mother was wrong. I'm hoping 2009 is the year we return to glory. (Yes, I know the 2009 Super Bowl will technically be held in 2010 . . .)

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
