Here are three bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers during this week's NFL Draft. The time has finally come. It's NFL Draft week! In a time with no sports currently being played, the draft has certainly come at a great time. On top of that, many think this draft has the potential to be

This is a swing and miss for Borman 3 times.

1. Why trade up. The quality difference between the #3 or 4 WR and the # 8-10 is minimal. Certainly not worth giving up an additional draft pick for.

2. Nope. Rodgers will be in GB for at least 4 more seasons. Why draft a QB who then uses up the vast majority of his rookie contract carrying the clipboard and standing on the sidelines?

3. No dbs in early rounds.

QB is the most important position on the field. If the team believes there is a franchise QB available, then they should pull the trigger. If that means trading Rodgers in 3 years, then so be it. We've seen this story before. While Rodgers could play into his 40s, that doesn't mean it's going to be with Green Bay.

What if Tua drops? I don't think it's likely, but here you have a clear cut top 5 or 10 pick a year ago. He falls because doctors didn't get a chance to examine him due COVID-19. Maybe GB got an earlier look at him before COVID hit and our doctor's signed off on him. Now you have a scenario where chance happened to allow a stud QB to drop in the draft. If I am Gute and I get the chance to jump New England to make my pick, then I have to do it - especially if my head coach believes in Tua.

Again, this pure speculation on my part. But Ron Wolf was bold when he traded a first round pick for Brett Favre, a backup in Atlanta. Ted Thompson was bold when he took Aaron Rodgers after already having Favre on the roster. Gute is cut from the same cloth as those guys and I suspect when he makes a move for a QB, it will be bold.

Burrow, Tua and Herbert will all be gone. Love, Fromm and Eason are the ones I was thinking about.

Good catch.

Why?
1) You can never get enough good CBs!

2) CBs are so important to the defense and some suggestion they're second important after QBs to winning games.

3) Outside of Alexander, our CBs suck!

As Vic from Ask Vic put it, Packers had one of the best pass rushes in the NFL last year, faced a lot of shitty QBs and STILL completely struggled against the pass at times (especially veterans)

And we lost Tramon Williams...

And if you look at the planned starters for next year, the Packers are facing a better collection of QBs than they have in a long long time, including Brees, Brady, Rivers, Watson, Bridgewater, Ryan and more....

That said what is the difference, perceived or otherwise, between the top WRs and the rest of them.

CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs are all expected to go in the top half of round 1.

Tee Higgins, Justin Jefferson, Chase Claypool, Brandon Aiyuk, Jalen Reagor, Denzel Mims, K.J. Hamler and Laviska Shenault all could go in 1st or 2nd round.

Brian G doesn't lie to us. Around the combine he said what he'd do and basically did exactly that. I think he's a straight shooter without giving up the secrets.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
