Buck you did a good job on your selections. That said I doubt they keep 27 offense and 23 on defense. It's going to be more balanced.

They probably will cut 2 more. The options are: 10 OL might be 8. No fullback or only 3 TE.

You have 9 DB. In a passing league they may want to have 10.

Someone you have on the PS will be picked up by another team but we have no idea who.

Summers is a converted QB, who can play that lb/s position.

Very good job!

My biggest questions or thought changes are

I'm still wondering if Lazard will be staying at WR or being moving to TE, his combine/proday size and athletic numbers are exactly like Robert Tonyan (who was also a college WR).

Also IF (and this is a big question mark IF), if LaFleur is planning on running more 2 TE systems list some are projecting, will there be less WRs and more TEs than expected?

10 OL seems like a lot, which the Packers have done, but only when they've drafted two rookies and kept them both. And 10 OL especially seems high when you consider only 3 of them are primary OTs... so that's 7 primary interior OL... IMO that's just too many interior OL when they normally have had 5. So I'd go with 9 OL... if McCray, Patrick or Madison are that 10th guy, they very well could be released.

On defense the old debates between 3-4 vs 4-3 are mostly dead as basically all 32 teams are running 4-2 nickel defenses 70% of the time, and so the Packers defensive roster numbers looked more like 4-3 roster numbers than 3-4 roster numbers with DL at one point dropping to 4 guys (normally was 5 thought), only 4 edge rushers numbers and a surprisingly high 5 off the ball LBers despite basically only using 1 outside of STs and running situations..

The Packers only went with a max of 5 DL all of last season under Pettine and shocked me when they seemed to be okay with only with only 4 a little while after Wilkerson injury until more injury happen... I think number wise, they would like to keep it at 5 .... but if they consider Daniels/Lowry are in contract years and needing to developing guys and having some good prospects to develop it could potentially be 6 for development/contract this year. And that's a tough final cut in Lancaster, Adams and Keke... of course that's assuming Adams and Keke show up like they potentially could, otherwise they could be released.

Packers when with a max of 4 OLBers last year (just like 4-3 front teams) and so I don't think they're gonna get up to 6, maybe 5 though. Packers had 4 or 5 ILBers last year (though mostly played on STs only), so I can't seeing them go all the way to 2 this year (and if they did, then a SS is going to be helping them out and there is gonna be extra Safeties).

Almost all teams keep 6 CBs on the roster for CB depth and STs. And it wouldn't surprise me to seem the keep 5 Safeties again.

I don't have a PS ready, but he's my general roster wild crazy guess right about now...

I really wanted to keep another OT (I'm thinking Light, cus they kept him around last year to develop) but I just didn't want to cut Tonyan, Vitale or one of the WRs... but one of them very well could be released instead of the 9th OL. Also I really liked Kizer as a rookie (other than putting all the pressure on himself, to the point he folded, but talent wise he was good.... MM tried to completely change his footwork and he took a big step back... if he's footwork looks as poor as last year, he could be potentially be gone if Boyle also steps up. But that's a lot of ifs there...

QB (3) Rodgers, Kizer, Boyle

RB (3) Jones, J. Williams, D. Williams
FB (1) Vitale

WR (6) Adams, Allison, Valdes-Scantling, St. Brown, Moore, Kumerow
TE (3) Graham, Lewis, Tonyan, Sternberger

OT (3) Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Spriggs
OG (4) Taylor, Turner, Jenkins, McCray
C (1) Linsley (both Jenkins and McCray can play Center)

Generally I'm thinking one less DL and one more LB, but the ILB depth seem lacking (wouldn't be surprised to see them claim someone from another team there), or Gilbert instead or maybe Donnerson for ST value.

(Really wide open to who the 4th ILB will be, just went with Summers for speed/STs, but that's what Crawford is great at, so they might only keep one and find someone better at ILB... though I've been projecting S Josh Jones to help there for years as the dime coverage ILB)

(really wide open to who the 6th CB is, just when with Jamerson for speed/STs)

(Williams knows the system better than the new comers and Savage has to adjust to the pros first, though he'll be worked in more as the season goes along and Williams might play both S and CB liked he hinted at last year he wanted to do).

NT (2) Clark, Lancaster
DE (4) Daniels, Lowery, Adams, Keke

OLB (4) Z. Smith, P. Smith, Gary, Fackrell
ILB (4) Martinez, Burks, Crawford, Summers

CB (6) King, Alexander, Jackson, Brown, Hollman, Jamerson
S (5) Williams, Amos, Savage, Jones, Greene

ST (3) Crosby, Bradley, Scott

I am taking Beast predictions, and modifying them as follows:

OLine - neither Taylor or McCray make the squad replaced by Yosh Nijman and Cole Madison
Vitale will not make it - replaced with a veteran pickup off waivers
Beast, your TE position says it has 3, but you listed 4 names. I didn't count everything, but I'm assuming that makes your total 54.

I don’t see Trevor Davis making the team. Yes, at one time he was great on returns, but what has he done in the last several seasons? Nothing, really.
Kumerow has a much better up side as a WR and in my opinion deserves a roster spot.

But it surprised me that they basically twice selected Davis over Kumerow, at least if the rumors we're true that he'd be healthy by the start if the season.

Then again they needed a returner and they were hoping that Cobb and Allison would get healthy for the longest time... and Gute seemed to be a strong believer in getting the draft picks with talent on the field to develop over the season after it started not looking so good, so they could have slowed the rush to get Kumerow back as soon as possible.

When you look at the list of players it will be a very difficult job to cut from 60 to 53.

I'm sure there will a couple of guys who get injured and land on IR. Perhaps a player they can trade for a 6th or 7th round conditional pick.

Everything is about money. I would like to see the NFL and MLB increase their rosters.

Teams already find ways to bend the injured reserve system to their advantage, so why not go ahead and give them more options for improving the product on the field?

I think the “game day inactive” list is stupid. Why not just have anyone on the 53 man roster be allowed to play?
Otherwise why even bother to have a 53 man roster?
I don’t understand it.
You might as well just lower the number of guys allowed per team.

Is there a calendar date in the future where/when a large number of roster bonuses are due to veterans?

I don't know that there necessarily is, but if there was, it would be interesting to see who might be available should team decide to cut veterans loose.

There may be some scrambling around the league as some teams up against the cap will have to release veteran players.

They used to have them later, giving both sides more time to talk... but then if the team let the player go, they were kinda screwed, because the big money and cap space had all dried up, even some teams that wanted to offer more, just couldn't because of limited cap space. So the agents (smartly, to protect their clients) made them pretty dang close to the start of the new year/start of free agency.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
beast (20-Jun) : Hmm 🤔 re-signing Walker before Tom? Sounds highly questionable to me.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jun) : One person on Twitter=cannon law
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : Well, to ONE person on Tweeter
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : According to Tweeter
