It was spot on...and unassailable. More important, a strong OL is key to establishing the run so that opposing linebackers are more susceptible to play action. Then, even if we only had above average (NE quality) receivers, they would be getting wide open more.

Also spot on. Our passing game design was exposed against Denver 3-4 years ago, and we never adjusted to more quick hitting, rubs, picks, and downfield square ins. It also starts with designing plays which get your receivers to actually run fast for at least the first 8-12 steps.
Two arguments/positions are complementary nor contradictory.
