Zero dropped this on me, I assume to say that he does not like it when I post an opinion. A simple "I disagree" would have served as well and would not have been so sarcastic. Years ago being disrespectful in such a way was almost unheard of, yet today it is an everyday occurance.

My point is this, that while it's fine to learn about the candidates for HC in GB, it is quite another to announce that this one or that one will be GB's new HC. Acting like the final authority (like Chicken Little crying the shy is falling) serves no purpose.

Supporting this man or that man for GB's new HC is quite normal. Even posting against a possible future GB HC is understandable. I just hope that GB will get a new HC that will work with the GM and take the Packers on to future Super Bowl Titles.

(By the way, who is the girl, someone famous ?)

You weren't giving an opinion, you were ordering people around, saying to calm down, present your case for your favorite, but don't say you know who the next HC is, etc... that's why I posted that. Because even other HC candidates who did interview, they have been told the Packers have made their choice and it wasn't them. You are right though, it is not official because the Green Bay Packers have not made the announcement. I don't disagree with you there.

However, seeing as this is the worst kept secret around, it seems like 99.99% chance Matt LeFleur is our new Head Coach. So, we're all going to dig deep and find everything we can about him to get a jump start. And if LeFleur rejects the offer (sources have stated he already accepted, hence the Packers telling other candidates the position is filled) or if he changes his mind, then guess what? We will cross him off our list and we'll start digging deeper into other candidates.

Is it just me, or is anyone uneasy hiring a guy after one interview? Not just him, but anybody. Do we have people who know him? Just asking?

As someone who's interviewed for jobs. I would rather be in a room with everyone asking me questions than going from one person to the next, or even coming back for a 2nd interview. They always ask the same shit!! "Tell me something that I won't read on your resume".

I guess my concern with anyone, not specific to ML, is that they can have a day well above the norm when interviewing.

Perhaps at coaching clinics, league meetings, and elsewhere, people Murphy and Gute know have met him, Other than Kizer, are there any cutrent guys who played for him? IIRC Iread somewhere that he coached with Pettine briefly

I guess thats why, in any profession, its good to network, be willing to learn, and not make enemies.

Ugh, so we're really gonna abbreviate this coach too ... kids these days ... so lazy! ;-)

Yes, absolutely. One of the things I was told in college was the importance of networking with people in my profession (software developer). It's come full circle a few times too. Funny off topic story. My first landing spot I was responsible for upgrading all VB6 applications to use VB.NET without 3rd party tools. A lot of the projects I was redoing were done by initials RJE, a guy named Rick. When I interviewed with my current employer, Rick was in the interview room with me. That was fun and I had a LOT of fun with him. Told him that I had to follow him around cleaning up his mess! Last circle of interviews I took, the person in charge of hiring me was also someone from my first place. In fact, it was him leaving that created the opening for me to get my foot in the door. So yea, networking happens even if you want it to so always put your best foot forward.

...Excellent questions, Dan. We have used executive search firms in the past to fill front office positions. They can be very helpful, as you mentioned, in identifying and screening potential candidates. They also can bring a structure to the search. For this search, though, we decided not to use a search firm. The pool of potential candidates is relatively small and the NFL has resources available to teams to assist in the search process, including recommendations regarding candidates from an advisory panel of former NFL executives and video interviews with candidates.

With his work, obviously, being very public, recommendations coming from that panel and video of earlier interviews and/or explaining his views on football, I can imagine one interview is enough.

Pretty good article on Matt LaFleur 's

The Cardinals enjoyed one of their most productive eras under LaFleur’s leadership, earning a league title and three trips to the NCAA Division II playoffs. Both of LaFleur’s primary receivers (Glenn Martinez-Houston Texans; Ruvell Martin-St. Louis) are on NFL rosters.

Another article, before the Falcons Super Bowl, he sounds pretty humble saying he might of learned more from Matt Ryan than Ryan learned from him, which I got a feeling some will take as a negative, I'm just happy that he's still open for more learning.(I thought the top article was more interesting, at least to me)

I thoroughly enjoyed updating my RB4 network using CVB protocols into a virtual ARF7 network....ah yes, I remember it well. Here at the nursing home, we use a string and a can on each end to order our meds and food.

Zero2Cool (2h) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (2h) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (2h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (2h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (3h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (3h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (3h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (3h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (3h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (3h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (3h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (3h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (3h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (3h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (3h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (3h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (3h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (3h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (3h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (4h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (4h) : Packers will get in
beast (4h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (4h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (4h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (5h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (7h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (7h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (7h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (17h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (17h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (20h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
