I don’t think any of us are eagerly awaiting the Lincoln Riley era

To the contrary, Oklahoma gets some great recruits with relatively low academic standards. They dominate with talent in the big eight. Their quarterback keeps play is alive and is responsible for a big part of their offense. Riley is as much of an offense of genius as Mike McCarthy

This is an interesting point and one I've contemplated. I'm not sure if it would make me feel better or worse knowing that he was looking off the defensive backs versus inexplicably declining to dump off to the open running back. Either way, he was flat-out missing the wide receivers or throwing the ball out of bounds, so the effect was the same.

When I've tried though, I've noticed others missing open guys quite a bit too. Tom Brady and Drew Brees seem to do it less frequently though from what I've observed.

That would be an interesting hire. He's not even the defensive coordinator, he's the LB coach.

Interesting thought...

In addition to the Packers vacancy

Jets fire Todd Bowls
Buccaneers fire Dirk Koetter
Browns fired Hue Jackson (old news)

Something odd ...
Mike Mayock a strong candidate for Raiders GM job -- How the hell is that gonna work? Mayock is helluva talent scout, but Gruden wants "Gruden Guys".

Anything that gets both Gruden and Mayock out of the broadcast booth is fine by me. They are two peas in a pod, and their mannerisms make me want to scream. 🤬

I like this comment over on the CheeseheadTV article:

Is the HC being hired just for the remaining years with Rodgers or is he being hired to be there with the next QB and different team approach with and after Rodgers?

I want a guy who gets three years of Rodgers but with the future QB sitting and learning during year three and then move on from Rodgers.

I wonder if Lawrence from Clemson wouldn't fit that in two years...if he can be got and he was a freshman this year thus having three years as starter in college.

I really want to see Green Bay start preparing for the future at the quarterback position. They have more pressing needs this year, and this allegedly is not a great quarterback class, but certainly starting next year I hope they take a good, hard look at what's out there.

That Patriot coaching tree has done great outside of Boston. Rehire MM before you bring in McDaniels.

Wait, can they actually ink a deal before the Patriots are eliminated from the postseason?

Also: how do we know this is not disinformation being leaked to throw other teams off the scent?
