Found it.

"If the Packers do hire McDaniels, it would make things interesting. And according to reports, Patriots offensive coordinator is the leading candidate to win the job. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated was on FS1's the "Herd with Colin Cowherd" recently and he was asked who is the leading candidate to be the next head coach for the Packers. Breer said he continues to hear Josh McDaniels be the guy because he could come in and work with Aaron Rodgers, which is something the Packers need in order to move forward.

"That would make some sense because they need somebody who can come in there and coach Aaron Rodgers," Breer said to Cowherd. "I know that sounds simple because he's such a great player, but it's actually kind of complicated. How do you challenge a guy like that? How do you come in and make him better on a day-to-day basis?"

"There aren't very many people on the planet who have experience doing that with that sort of player. Josh McDaniels actually does.""

So I guess find out how recently Albert Breer said that to see whether his comments were early on in the search or just in the last few days. Could just be initial thoughts.

It's been idiotic fans saying Rodgers is sabotaging. Finally proven wrong today. Breer has much closer sources than the fan base. Yes, your point is still valid.

On a related note, Kizer was McCarthy's boy. Now that McCarthy is no longer in Green Bay, what are the odds that Kizer actually makes the roster next season?

The front office was very high on kizer and nearly drafted him instead of king. I'm assuming McCarthy talked them out of it. Similarly, most of that front office is gone too. I'd be surprised if he doesn't make it. Hasn't had a chance yet and his contract is guaranteed.

Really glad to read this and hope (and have no reason to not believe it to be true) it is true. And I still think Mark is grooming Brian for a larger role down the road. Similar to what Ted Thompson ended with.

And if no outside help, then my question is why did he hire outside help (Jed Hughes) for the GM search , but not the head coaching search? If GM scouting is harder? Or he just didn't think Hughes was helpful... or if he just wants someone to work with and he already has that in Gute?

If Kizer gets his footwork down, and keeps improving, I think he can be a hell lot better than what we saw in training camp (heck he was better as a rookie).

Damn. Kizer is just gonna be turning 23 next month. He's younger than I guessed.

Let me throw this guy out

Cliff Kingsberry.
OC USC

Former Texas Tech. HC

Only player to throw for over 5000 yds then coach a qb who threw for over 5000 yds.

Rams almost signed him.

I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

The Packers are indeed one of the teams that Jay Glazer claims have considered buying Kliff Kingsbury out of his contract  and bringing him to the NFL.
