Several great points in this article. What do you think about what Bucky says?

His main points rephrased:
- Too predictable/lack innovation
- Guys on the outside arent playmakers/difference makers
- Great drafts help mediocre teams become great

All excellent points

My favorite line in the article was from the scout who said that “he doesn’t help his guys win on the outside.” i.e. I don’t scheme my guys open.

It is especially hard to watch when there so many innovative offenses around including the Bears Chiefs Rams Saints et alia.

To be fair, the man doesn’t have that much to work with. On offernse other than 12, 63, 69,17, and perhaps 33, our starters are below average. Our guards get no drive, so running on 3rd and short is iffy at best, especially when there is no innovation.

We've lost these games, because of ST and because of his star QB. Mike needs to get a chapter in his textbook on sports psychology. Traditionally, Mike has been unable to have guys ready to play. Not just early in the season but early in games. They always go into a lull for at least one quarter.

Mike's teams play 30-45 minutes during an average football game, but STILL WIN. Then everyone says he "doesn't have enough talent." Bullshit. Press those emotional buttons. Motivate them. Get some momentum in games, keep it.

But the worst shortcoming in Mike's inability to grasp sports psychology is with Aaron. Aaron has now gone into diva mode. I suspect he got Ted fired, and now he's working on Mike. Dude has finagled a $33/year contract, so now he HAS LEVERAGE on the franchise. This was thought out beforehand. Aaron wants CONTROL of the franchise, and it looks like he is getting it. NOTHING good can come from this.

Look at Demarious Randall in Cleveland. He's been playing quite well. We could have used a guy like that, at that position. But it wasn't to be. Because Mike doesn't know how to deal with guys. The monster makes an appearance, Mike can't reel them back in. At least Gute was able to deal Randall. We might be stuck with Aaron due to his enormous contract.

There are 30 other GMs who would love to be “saddled” with 12 and that contract.

I will grant you that ther may be a lack of motivation by MM, but other than 12, most teams in our conference would take their talent over ours.

Former Packers excelling elsewhere is the exception, and certainly NOT the rule. Other than last years draft, there is very little to show from the previous 3.

Don’t get me wrong, Mike McCarthy has his shortcomings, but we have average personnel. That notwithstanding, I love what an undermanned Pettine defense has been doing.

The offense has issues, but it certainly doesn't help that we have been spending so much top draft capital on the defense. It was bound to come back to bite us in the ass. We complain about the 2015 and 2017 drafts and it being busts for us. What a difference those drafts could have been if we just drafted a Tyler Lockett and Cooper Kupp who many of us were hoping for. These guys you even didn't need to spend your first pick on.

I’d just love to see some proof that Rodgers is this “diva” that people make up in their minds 😂

The only starters on O that full on stink is RG and occasionally a rookie WR when they mess up.

Back in 2015 I could buy that argument a bit easier but it shouldn't be so hard this season. I think even if it's not some full blown mutiny McCarthy has really lost the confidence of the locker room this year. He's been a step too slow IMO to adjust his staff/scheme instead favoring "continuity" without getting enough results in return. He brought in too many yes men to help run HIS offense instead of bringing in a partner to help build it up.

Ted was hamstrung by a conditioning staff that couldn't keep guys healthy and the fact that he had amassed so much depth that it was hard for new players to crack the roster. You still see guys he drafted and signed as UDFAs all over the league. Lawrence Guy just stripped Aaron Jones a few weeks ago.

One of my favorite suggestions in this article was that McCarthy should learn from Andy Reid's recent situation. If you've been really set in your ways and your offense is getting stale, it does make a lot of sense to bring in other innovative coaches and allow them to help you tweak your offense. In spite of this season up to now, I still like McCarthy as a leader. But if the league is beginning to pass him by (as the article suggests) then I think it would be great for him to bring in some help to improve the playbook/call-sheet.

Zero2Cool (1h) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (2h) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (16h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (16h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger

Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
