Let's face it. From a self-scouting standpoint, this team is 4-2. That Minnesota game was taken away from us. Our defense sealed the deal in that game arguably 5 times, the most obvious of which was the fake penalty on Clay's sack that took away the game clinching INT.
THAT is how good this team is. Because even with what should be a 4-2 record, this team has only shown up for an average of what, ONE quarter per game? This isn't on the players that have been drafted. This is on Mike's complete lack of sports psychology. Dude just does NOT know how to have his team ready or get in their heads to motivate them.
That was one thing Vince Lombardi could do. It's not the ONLY thing that made him great, but it definitely contributed. Mike just doesn't have that. IMHO, it's the one single thing that is keeping Mike from being an all time great coach.
All that aside, this team is badly underrated. They have been shitting themselves consistently, week after week and are STILL in play for the division lead. That suggests to me that they DO have the talent.
All this team needs to do is SHOW UP for 2-3 quarters, and we can beat ANYBODY. Obviously showing up for a full 60 is too much to ask. But Mike's teams have proven over the years that they don't need to do that. We've had a week's rest before this coming game. We can get this! đź‘Ť [twocents]
