Someone in a third world country could say the same about me and yet if my boss doesn't give a shit and is completely disengaged with what I'm doing as an employee, I'm not going to bust my balls putting in 100% all day every day so long as I'm still getting my own job done. Even if I do put in 100%, having a decent manager versus a shitty one goes a long ways towards maximizing my output.
As others have said, they're human beings, not robots. A it certainly impacts the amount of sympathy I have for them considering they're, making a certain amount of money doesn't make someone not a human being anymore and otherwise immune to basic human psychology.
