To add to 2Sheds comments:
CB was a bigger priority than OLB at draft time 2017. King is rated by PFF as "above average" and Watt, with 6 sacks is ranked as "average." Watt has two 3 sack games, which shows his pass rush ability is dependent on the match-up or circumstances, plus that only accounts for 6 of Watt's whopping 377 snaps!
Ted got a better player, at a position of greater need and an extra early 4th round pick. Who can bitch about this?
NOTE: Hayward in his prime only got $15M for 3 years when he left; at 29 he got 33.3M for 3 years. PLEASE, understand he played much better for Chargers. GB passed on Hayward because he was a self-absorbed child that REFUSED to take coaching and they didn't want this attitude rubbing off on the youngsters. There was zero indication that he'd ever get better.
When he went to SD, he took his work more professionally. Hayward's mom died tragically in the off-season B4 his 1st season in SD; this is what catapulted him to manhood.
