Please stop this moronic post , the packers aren’t getting rid of the best player in the nfl , theres no way in hell to get Rosen as he will be taken in the first 4-5 picks, Aaron wants to play until he’s close to 40 if he’s able, they have 2 capable backups, even though if Aaron goes it would be almost impossible to make a playoff run, that goes for about 75% of all teams !!

I was however wrong about the length of the current contract. It is even better that it is two years and not one. That will give a QB two years to develop under Rogers instead of one.

I can’t believe the people that want to get rid of AR.
Look at how many “can’t miss” QBs in the first round the last 30 years MISSED!
So give up one of the best QBs in the NFL for an unknown college kid....geez.
I can see getting one for the future, but to trade Rodgers, when he most likely has 3 or 4 good years left seems stupid to me.

I mean, they don't need the best ever, what they need is a dominating defense and someone better than Kirk Cousins. That said, I do like the way you think.

See how Kizer comes along, squeeze another year out of Aaron, then trade him next year.

The question isn't do you keep Aaron Rodgers.
Of course you keep him.

The REAL question is does Aaron Rodgers want to stay in Green Bay?

Ted Thompson not gone but not in charge.
Qb coach gone.
Jordy gone.
Aaron not happy, not good.
Those of you who don't want to pay him (right now it seems the new GM is on that list), are dead wrong.
Either pay the man or get rid of him now.

Any other choice and you WILL have another Brett Favre scenario.

Could be Aaron is quite content to play out his contract and move on in 2 years, if so that's square on the head if the new GM!.

Stop acting like this is the first time Aaron Rodgers has lost a WR he liked or a QB coach he liked. Aaron is one of the smartest football players I've listened to and followed. He clearly knows this is a business. Yes, he's not jumping for joy, but shit, he is still talking to Jordy, he still spends time with him. Just because you change JOBS doesn't mean you stop being friends with someone.

If there is a QB at 14 that the Packers absolutely love, then you take him. Aaron is 34 years old and while I think he has a handful of top 5 QB play, we're not exactly one starter away from a Super Bowl. If someone like Josh Rosen (21 years old) is there at 14 and the Packers feel they he's the next in line at QB, you draft him. This is no different than 2005. You take the best player available.

And for the record, I would be pissed if we lost Rodgers, but I understand the Packers are a franchise, a business and they are going to be around much longer than Rodgers and the future has to be considered.

i do apologize for the term moronic, that said, why would you waste the # 14 pick overall on a qb, rodgers will be here for at least 4-6 yrs barring injury, my philosphy is if brady and manning can do it so can aaron, the packers need defense, they need young cbs and linebackers desperately, thats your # 1 concern, you said rosen will be a great selection , theres no way he gets past pick # 5-6 , i dont know why anybody would think aaron would be over paid, cousins just got a mega deal and hes the 3rd best qb out there, not in the nfl but in a 4 team division, so aaron would be worth the huge contract. get this guy some winners that could play to his level, if they did this the packers and rodgers would have about 2-3 more superbowls under there belt !! bottom line hes not going anywhere and this team goes no where without him ..

This would only make sense if the Packers truly feel another HOF QB drops to them. That would be hard to pass up in any draft, especially with an aging QB. Aaron Rodgers is proof that young QBs can sit behind veterans for three years and enjoy great success. Would it make sense to pass on the next Aaron Rodgers for BJ Raji, even if you currently have an aging Aaron Rodgers? Of course not. But if there is any doubt in the QB that drops, it would be best to take the best available player or trade down and possibly draft the QB later if they become the best available player. Ultimately, the Packers need as many good players as they can find, largely regardless of position.
