DAMN, we have more positive Saints Taysom Hill threads than positive Packers threads after a Packers win and on a Packers site in the sub forum of Green Bay Packers Talk...

Should we rename this sub forum Taysom Hill Talk?

You'd rather talk about a QB who threw for 84 yards and barely got us past TAMPA? It's a juxtaposition considering an old passion of mine. I was laughed at by many banging the drum for Hill. To hear he's Payton's guy to be his next franchise QB while we're left barely hanging on due to that decision is vital to discuss on a Packers board.

Our management made the decision to keep Lenzy Pipkins over Taysom Hill because of the need our management created at that position and it's inability to fix it in the off-season. So, what we did is exactly what we do when we draft...we go NEED over TALENT. This is what need over talent looks like. Lenzy Pipkins buried on the depth chart unlikely to ever be a player for us vs. Payton ecstatic over getting a franchise QB via our mistake.

Sorry, about the 4.4 thing... I couldn't recall if it was 4.4 or 4.3 but recall them saying on the broadcast that he runs faster than Michael Vick and I recall Vick as a 4.3 guy. Just checked...Vick was 4.25 and they said he was faster.

TALENT is what this team needs. It doesn't go for TALENT...it likes these plain Jane players...I don't get it. Michael Clark has TALENT...size, hands and wingspan. Use it. Janis has world class speed and strength wasting away on ST's. Can't find a package of plays to utilize him in over all these years? We like these try hard guys over these game breakers.

Hill will be on my mind as we go forward. Can't wait to see what he does with the Saints over the years. It should hopefully be just another thing looking back that says we were mismanaged.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

We shouldn't confuse physical ability as football talent.

Sean Payton using physically gifted player on special teams that can come in and play QB is very smart. Hill was thought to flip to Free Safety (I read it online, so must be true) so maybe he could play DB in a pinch too?

I'm with the group wanting to have kept Hill back then and hasn't changed. I just won't say he's the next franchise QB because he can run 4.4 speed.

Football. Player.

Did you notice the look on Payton's face at end? Would bet MM has never had that for Hundley.

I saw Hill live. He was fun to watch. Such a ceiling but we had to hold onto our investment.

I gotta believe we wouldn't have used Taysom's abilities anyway so he's in a much better place. Hundley can run but MM won't accentuate his only strength so why would he use Hill's advantage?

But the video above reminds me of something I've said about Janis and might be said about Hill... if they're got that much speed and can tackle, then maybe think about working them into back-up FS some... while they might not have the instincts to play close Safety, if they do have great speed, and are a willing tackler, then they might be able to learn deep Safety as it's more wait until you see it and then react hard to it and their great speed can make up for a lack of instincts.

And who knows, maybe Janis and/or Hill would have the instincts for it as well.

If we're going to do it with the great Herb Waters...

Use what you have where it helps you. Why sit on talent? Why?

It's unorthodox what Payton did but I love it just like I loved using 88 at RB. We only did it because we needed to. Necessity shouldn't be the mother of invention with an innovative intelligent HC. Have always felt MM is lacking in the mental category. Thought that was a Holmgren strength but not as strong as I'd like. Gotta have intelligence. 12 is brilliant. The matching is very inequitable.

I doubt Hill is going to amount to anything more than an average backup quarterback, at best. However, it's hard to imagine he could possibly be as bad as Hundley, especially with the Packers running game. Losing him was a mistake. But at least we got a bunch of bottom of the roster scrubs still.

Oh wait you mean like RG3 or maybe even Colin Karedick. Nevermind your right they don't compare because they didn't get put on special teams lol. If you think of it we should have put Cobb as our franchise qb he played QB in college.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Zero2Cool (1h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (4h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (4h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (6h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (6h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (6h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (6h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (6h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (6h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (6h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (6h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (6h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (6h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (6h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (6h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (7h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (8h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (8h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (8h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
