With the amount of cap space we have, I wouldn't have a problem giving Williams a raise, but not to the extent Grant got last year. Grant was a starter. Williams is a nickel corner who has done a pretty good job in that role and stepped up when asked to.

The big problem is that he will be able to start somewhere else, so he will want starter money, I'm afraid.
I mean, he's young, he's still progressing it seems and there's quite a need for corners. I can see a hold-out coming here and maybe even a trade to the Bengals, Chiefs, Dolphins, Falcons, even the Patriots.
I hope he'll understand that he's a nickel-corner here though and that he'll eventually get his chance. Maybe accept a deal with a bit less money but for just one year. I mean, he can show was he got, still make a couple of million dollars and if he doesn't pan out or doesn't want to be here if Harris & Woodson will come back for another year, he's free to go.
