We played Man coverage far more than Zone. Gunter was pretty much in Man coverage against OBJ in the Giants game, Dez in the Dallas Game and Julio in the Atlanta game. Ha-Ha and Burnett as well as LBers were usually in zones, nickel and dime backs varied between playing zone and man when they were on the field.

The positive side - he is familiar with Dom's defense. Also might consider a smaller contract after being cut (from Cleveland of all places.) He was a solid corner when he played in GB, maybe he has a few good years left in him. I can't imagine him being any worse than the rest of our corners not named Shields.

Cost might have been the main reason.

Tramon switched to safety this past season, missed quite a few games due to injury.

Wouldn't hurt to invite him to camp.
Get him in at Vet minimum, you never know he might surprise everyone and still have something left.

Sounds like Shields will be gone, Tramon could be that veteran leader to help all these young guys out.
