When are pass rushers running 40 yards down field?

I much rather watch a defensive end's first step and how quick and how he accelerates than watching him run 40 yards down field. If he's running 40 yards down field then he's probably chasing someone.

The 40 is rather overrated at some positions. I think you need a good 40 to play corner in the NFL, but beyond that I'm not sure you need elite speed to play any other position.

But you quickly lose the advantage of a quick first step if you're slower than other players at the same position. I think even though he starts fast, Orakpo would still get to the QB faster.

I like Orakpo better too, but you have Maybin out of round one entirely which I don't think happens. I think Orakpo goes 5 to 12 and Maybin goes 9 to 16.

Actually, I've ranked Maybin as 18 to 30, but just don't see any of the teams there picking him. Maybe when I do another mock when the FA period cools down, he may find his way in.

I think Cleveland, Green Bay, Buffalo, Denver, Washington, Houston, San Diego, Chicago, Baltimore, Miami, New England, Tennessee, Philadelphia, and Detroit all probably look at him.

I know what you're saying though. I find myself having a hard time figuring out where the running backs are going this year as nobody is really "elite" in my opinion.
