Look I get that it's hard to bench a superstar but if Rodgers really is that bad that he's completely single handedly destroying the team then McCarthy absolutely deserves to be fired for not sitting him down. Hell Mike can't even muster up the juice to bench him before the last drive in a complete blowout last week.

My idea to bench Rodgers was to motivate him to wake up. The Dunne article tells us that once Rodgers is benched, its forever. The guy wont even talk to his G-pa for whatever G-pa did or didn;t do. If Mike benches Rodgers, Rodgers will go nuts. He'd be a horror on the bench, he'd do whatever he could to sabotage in the media; it would not even shock to learn he'd call GB's adversary each week and give them the game plan.

Rodgers is a sadistically vindictive clown. So its not just about Hundley playing better than Rodgers. If you cut/trade Rodgers, then Hundley gets hurt, the season is over for sure. This may have been a reason for keeping Callahan, then injuries forced the taking of the 3rd QB spot.

There are just 2 choices: Play him or cut/trade him. The most prudent thing is to slug it out for the season; if Rodgers has some success his trade value increases. If you trade him now, you'll get at best a 3rd or 4th rounder. Though Rodgers wont be back next year, there's no need to rebuild, we'll be a good team with Hundley; maybe real good.

According to you Rosgers is actively blowing the chances for a good team and McCarthy knows it's true and still won't switch QBs. That is absurdly bad coaching if true. So either McCarthy is making a big mistake or things aren't as bad with Rodgers on the field as you are saying.

You make Rodgers mad, its a lifelong invidious hate. If Hundley goes down, no one can be sure if Rodgers will even go in the game. So you got to get Rodgers off the team and find a new QB BEFORE Rodgers' demotion. That means a 3rd or 4th in trade.

Given this, you might as well wait to make the change.

When do Packers fans admit to overvaluing the talent on this team?

They're fans of the franchise alone, not of the game of football in general, so they rarely watch any teams other than Green Bay. Consequently, they're unable to rationally evaluate this team in the context of the league at large.

The fans aren't the ones who pegged the team a Super Bowl contender. That was the experts and Vegas.

How about you calm down your arrogant superiority complexes and realize you're not superior to anything but single ply ass wipe? Mike McCarthy Kay punkin?

Also, writing about the league for a living cured me of my emotional investment in the game. Now I watch the games with a dispassionate, often sardonic detachment, which actually makes the whole experience more fun for me. I can focus more on the pleasure of competition and less on the agony of defeat.
