The Packers are struggling, and head coach Mike McCarthy has predictably come under fire as a result. But Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that McCarthy is not likely to lose his job, and while there has been significant conversation about McCarthy's relationship with Aaron Rodgers, La Canfora writes that the two men share [...]

I would view getting rid of Ted as a huge mistake. Alot of these defensive players that don't fit our system were requested by our DC, just as those "smaller, quicker" Olinemen were once requested by our HC.

Aaron needs to start getting the ball out in under 2.5, preferably to the open guy.

That's what needs to change.

But I thought Aaron was "self-shitting" to go against Mike?!?! XD.

Or they are adults who know how to handle things. However, if Mike is going to stay then we need new blood to help rejuvenate the Packers scheme. I know it isn't popular to Packers fans, but Edgar Bennett needs to go if Mike stays.

The Dunne article sheds light on why McCarthy nor Thompson were ever going anywhere, unless by choice.

GB was a decent team with a great QB; now there a decent team with a great QB, who with warning, turned to complete crap on the field after a 2015 bye week. There's no one to blame for this except headcase Rodgers. McCarthy turned Crosby around, has any coach ever done that? Zimmer couldn't fix Walsh; Stave Sax couldn't be fixed by his coaches; no manager has fixed Jon Lester being able to throw to first; no one could get Tony Coligniero not to be afraid of a pitch or Jim Eisenrich to be afraid of a crowd

McCarthy cant be faulted for not being able to motivate a sociopathic messiah complexed narcissist. And Thompson cant be faulted for devoting 1/7 of the cap on him.

Of course, when he ask is it Rodgers or McCarthy fault for any personal problem between them, it's definitely Rodgers.

When do Packers fans admit to overvaluing the talent on this team? When you are picking perennially in the 20's of every draft, your talent level will go down over time. Which is why you need a splash free agency signing occassionally.

Now, on to the coaching staff - what a fucking mess is about all I can say. If you shitcan Capers, do you scrap the 3-4? Or keep Capers and give him the linebackers he needs.

Eliot recently got promoted to his new position of "director-football operations" which basically means GM

Compare Eliot's new title, Director–Football Operations, to part of Ted Thompson title.
Executive Vice President, General Manager & Director of Football Operations

Eliot basically already has the job, he just doesn't have the full title yet, as they're probably putting the finishing touches on grooming him. Also Thompson was the most talkative after this last draft, than I've ever seen him, and Eliot has been getting to talk more and more to the media post selection of a player, on why the Packers selected said player.
