What is our record on 3rd and 2(or less) and 4th and 2(or less)? I don't recall it being very good, but perhaps you just remember screwing up more than you do making it. Lacy in better shape should certainly help along with a tall TE in Jared Cook.

So one week you are playing the Browns and you score 5 TDs. You go for 2 after each one and make it every time and you win the game 40-0. The next week you play the Seahawks and you score 2 TDs, you go for 2 each time and don't make either one and you lose the game 13-12. Its still great because hell you are 5 of 7 on 2 point conversions on the year and as long as you are over 50% its all good right? Hell yeah, lets go for 2 every time.

As you can see from below, the Packers converted two-point attempts against Seahawks, Vikings, Cardinals, Panthers and Redskins, all of which were in the playoffs.

Seahawks 1 - 1
Lions 0 - 2
Vikings 1 - 1
Cardinals 1 - 1
Panthers 1 - 1

Redskins 1 - 1

I think they should line up to go for two every time. If Aaron believes they have the right call against the D or that he can audible into the right call for the D, go for it. If he's not confident he can make an off sides move, a penalty would stop the play/clock without a time out, and then punt or repeat. 😲 😕 😂

Heck they may even make 83.33 percent of their tries over the course of the season if they went for it every time (I doubt it but they might) the thing is in some games 1 point doesn't really matter, in some games it does. It doesn't matter if you make 5 of 6 in games you win big if that one you fail to convert on costs you a close one. I don't have a problem if they try it more often but to simply say lets do it every time doesn't make any sense and it has nothing to do with being afraid to pour it on.

As far as McCarthy's comments, the only way he doesn't have an issue going for it every time is if he does go for it every time and we all know he won't so in reality, he does have an issue with going for it every time.

Mathematically, there’s no question that it would be the right call for some teams. Last year across the NFL, kickers went 1,146-for-1,217 (94.2 percent) on extra points, while offenses went 45-for-94 (47.9 percent) on two-point conversions. In other words, an extra point kick produced, on average, 0.942 points, while a two-point conversion attempt produced, on average, 0.958 points. The risks already (slightly) outweigh the rewards of going for two.

We’ve studied it, and mathematically, it does make sense.

Martha Careful (3h) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (4h) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (4h) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (6h) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (6h) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (6h) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (8h) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (10h) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (17h) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (17h) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (17h) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (17h) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Game not over yet
beast (18h) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (18h) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (18h) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (20h) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (20h) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (20h) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (20h) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (23h) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (23h) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (23h) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (23h) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : TD but another failed 2 pt conversion!
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Ravens still alive, but barely
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Or not...BUT THAT CATCH BY NACUA
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : WE MAY HAVE BEEN PREMATURE KANATA
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Time to make dinner
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Ouch!!!! Dagger for the Eagles
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : DAGGER
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : pass plays
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Seems some of their passes are too deep. Reminds me of MLF as well.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oren Burks with a clutch pass break up...I will now light myself on fire
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : a run on 2nd down and 17 from McVay? So that's where MLF gets it from!
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Do or die time for the Rams
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking field goals are impressive
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oh that might be a backbreaker
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : That's what I thought too, just wasn't sure
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking doesn't make much sense
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : If the Rams score a TD on the upcoming drive, they go for 2, right?
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Stafford is pretty good with 4th quarter comebacks. I would like to see it.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : YUGE stand by the Rams D there
