This is a very sad day for me, as my idol, football hero retired. Some may not care at all because he no longer played with the Packers. But I for one never gave up on him and I am proud to say that. He has given me so much joy over the years. Winning, loosing it didnt matter as long as I seen him having fun on the football field where he was happy playing the game he so much loved to play.

Thanks for the memories Brett as a Packer and as a Jet. I will be in Ohio with tears running down my cheeks thinking how much you deserve to be in the hall of fame, all your hard work and dedication it will be rewarded then. You will not be forgotten.

Favre will always be a Packers. He started as a Falcon and ended as a Jet, but nobody cares. Favre is a Packer and that's what he'll be remembered for.

I already "forgave" him. He's only human.
That said, i'm glad he's retiring. He's already pushed back my and Trippster's trip to Canton by one year. If he keeps playing, I might not be alive to make that trip!
Trippster.......is our trip still on???

Now that Brett has retired. Why does everyone have to bring up the same old arguments that carried this board all last spring, summer right into training camp?

Nobody is going to change anyone else's mind on the subject. Everyone has their opinion, leave it at that. Only time will let this whole saga play out.

I agree with those who say you will not see Brett doing much in Green bay untill the Ted Thompson era is over.
Ted Thompson was hired to do a job, BF was not part of the plan after the 2007 season. Time to move on.

Who here believes that if any number of teams come calling due to early season injuries or just the plain realization that a 40 year old Brett Favre is better than any qb on their roster, that Brett will consider playing again?
I do.
How many times has Vinnie T. came out of retirement?

Brett if you are truly retired then thanks for all the memories, thanks for playing the game like we all did growing up, thanks for keeping it real.

Brett if you decide to play again, I will be there in front of my TV, watching because IMHO, nobody plays the game like you do. and if there are more memories to be made I want to see them.

In retrospect, looking back on the 2008 season, what did Ted Thompson accomplish by dragging out the BF saga? Packers finished 6-10, Vikings won the North, nothing would have changed, if Ted Thompson would have just released Favre at the beginning, or traded him to The Vikings like Brett wanted, Bretts own admission he broke down the last five games of the season, what would have changed?

The only thing I see that would have changed is the fact that the circus would have left town way before training camp ever opened last year and The Packers could have been more focused on the upcoming season.
Just MHO, if you disagree fine, I will not be sucked into a huge argument rehashing old news.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

This is just way too easy.

Hillbilly Jack's shoulder will heal, the tractor will become a bore, and the itch will return.

Like the phantom pain that an amputee feels after surgery, Lil' Abner will once again convince his inner quarterback that there is just enough of his diminished skills left to take the helm of the Minnesota Viking Armada.

The only way that Brett Favre will ever leave the playing fields of the NFL will be strapped unto a spine board, placed on the back of a golf cart.

I would love to see a symbolic signing of Favre so he can retire as a Packer. I don't think it's going to happen though, especially since the papers could already be sent in to the NFL office.

Zero2Cool (15h) : oops meant $10m cap hit
Zero2Cool (15h) : And pre june is $10m savings

dfosterf (16h) : What they are offering is a left over case of Leinies from the Chippewa Falls plant

Zero2Cool (11-Mar) : Do Ravens have anything we'd even entertain to have?
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : I've seen trade ideas of Jaire going to the Ravens all offseason
beast (11-Mar) : A probably false rumor is suggesting CB Jaire Alexander is being traded to the Ravens, again probably false
beast (11-Mar) : Commanders might have a dominant offense the next 3 years at least
Zero2Cool (11-Mar) : San Francisco 49ers announced they have released DL Leonard Floyd.
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : Er getting traded twice like that
Mucky Tundra (11-Mar) : Huh, LT Laremy Tunsil traded from Houston to Washington. Never heard of a top OT getting traded in his career like that

Zero2Cool (11-Mar) : Damn
Martha Careful (11-Mar) : Saints are re-signing DE Chase Young to a three-year, $51 million deal worth up to $57 million.
