A defense that plays defense...ESPECIALLY at the END of games.

#5a Adrian Peterson breaks his leg lol

#5b Giants and Cowgirls fall apart again.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

RP - Sorry, my friend, but I'm going to change all five of your reasons.

1) Mike McCarthy realizes his mistakes and reverts back to 2007 MM. He becomes aggressive again. Goes for fourth downs. Says screw the run when the pass works. Never again sits on leads and realizes that the game isn't over until you see zeroes in the Fourth Q.

2) Dom Capers and the switch to 3-4. We start actually pressuring the QB. QB has no idea where the pressure's coming from. Kampy finally gets some single teams and he's able to exploit them. Hawk surprises everyone (except for me) and gets 8 sacks.

3) Driver shows us age means nothing to him. He and Gregorious both get 1000+ yards receiving and 8+ TDs.

4) Mike McCarthy finally understands that the pass can open up the run (he knew this in '07, but he forgot that concept in '08). Defenses do their little Cover 2s, but with a two TE attack, there are just too many holes to stop the Packer version of the WCO. Half our runs are when Ds were expecting pass and Grant goes back up to 5+ ypc.

5) Woodson, Collins, Bigby, Williams, Harris, and Rouse. Those names strike fear into opposing Os' hearts. Collins shows he's not a one-year wonder. With added pressure, QBs are forced to throw when they shouldn't and our DBs become interception machines.

My friend.. if Hawk even sniffs at 8 sacks.. I will launch a I love AJ site in honor of his achievement..

But I may rest easy, because unless he turns back the clock 4 years.. there is no way in hell that AJ will become that effective in the blitz.. the guy is taking on blockers like a pansy the last 20 to 24 games.. maybe Greene will wake the monster inside of Hawk.

I buy most of the other points here.. but call me jaded but Hawk has been playing like a pansy ass candy coated plum drop of his former OSU and even part of his Rookie year self.

Well, maybe I'm turning the clock back or maybe I'm just seeing things in Green & Gold tint, but I'm not willing to call Hawk a bust just yet. Harrell, yes. But Hawk, no. I think he needs a scheme change and the upcoming scheme I think fits him better.

We'll see though.

--

(the reason for the harsh word "bust" is because Hawk was a very high draft pick. He was the 1st LB taken in '06 and the 5th player taken overall. Someone that high in the draft is supposed to produce much better than his current production).

Damn Zombie you sound like the Shermanites did when they told us how good those 10-6 NFC North champion teams were. I'll be happy if 1/2 of your lists comes to fruition, although the whole list is possible with the proper amount of work applied.

I think if we can crack the top fifteen in overall defense, we have a real good shot next year. I am a little apprehensive about the O-line, moreso, than some of you because we don't seem to discuss the wholes there much.

Agreed on the Hawk front completely..He needs to step it up. Also Nick Barrnet his play has been less than lack lusted before his injury. I hope the injury doesn't set him back even further.

I see things through Green and Gold lenses. I readily admit that.

But if we have another 6-10 year, I'll be calling for both TT's and MM's dismissal. Ted Thompson is in year 5, Mike McCarthy is in year 4. 'Tis time to show some results or start working on a resume.

I was really disappointed in this year because I feel we have a better team top to bottom than Chicago or the Purple. I did not get hung up on the whole Favre thing and really want to keep my feelings about his last four years as a player to myself.

I felt our season went to sh!t when Cullen went down, then Al, and then when Barnett got hurt it was really some sort of sign that God wanted Childress to remain the coach of the Purple.

I'm pretty excited about next season because of the change in defensive philosophy from read and react to attack. I have concerns about the O-line; but for the most part we are in good shape. We are a better team than that of a team with the overall 9th pick.

As far as the green and gold glasses thing, I do enjoy all of you with that enthusiasm, but I'm more of a prove it to me first type of person. Maybe that's why I enjoy the yearly demise of the purple team so thoroughly.

Zero2Cool (1m) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (1m) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (2m) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (2m) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (4m) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (6m) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (10m) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (12m) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (12m) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (21m) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (27m) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (30m) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (30m) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (32m) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (41m) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (47m) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (51m) : Packers will get in
beast (51m) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (57m) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (57m) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (2h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (3h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (3h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (3h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (4h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (13h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (13h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (14h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (17h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : rough injury for tank dell. guy can't catch abreak
beast (21-Dec) : So far the college playoffs have sucked... One team absolutely dominates the other
beast (21-Dec) : Well even if you weren't positive towards a guy, you wouldn't nessarily want to tell the media that (if they don't know about it)
Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs
packerfanoutwest (21-Dec) : Coach Matt LaFleur has said quarterback Jordan Love is playing the best football of his career.
beast (21-Dec) : Oh, that's how you keep beating buckeye, with cheating
Zero2Cool (20-Dec) : There is a rule that if your name starts with 'b' you lose 15 points. Hey, I don't make the rules, I just enforce them!
wpr (20-Dec) : and then there is Beast. Running away with it all.
beast (20-Dec) : As of tonight, 3 way tie for 2nd in Pick'em, that battle is interesting!
beast (20-Dec) : Lions vs Vikings could be the main last game as it could determine division winners or #1 vs #2 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Or if KC needs to win for the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : Right now it looks like the only prime worthy games are Det-Minny and KC-Denver (if Denver can clinch a wild card spot)
Mucky Tundra (20-Dec) : The entirety of week 18 being listed as flex is weird
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Matt LaFleur today says unequivocally "Ted Thompson had nothing to do with the drafting of Jordan Love."
Zero2Cool (19-Dec) : Apparently, the editing is what pieces comments together. That Ted thing ... fake news.
