Have you seen the protection Tom Brady gets? Peyton Manning prior to this season? Really, almost any QB? It's a LOT more than Rodgers. How many times have you seen him just stand in the pocket - like there even is a pocket - for any significant part of that "5 1/2 seconds" (which I will take your word about)? The alternative to what he does is NOT a
"quicker release". On occasion, Rodgers gets rid of the ball quicker than just about anybody. The alternative would be get in a hurry and to throw more interceptions. Did you read that Aaron Rodgers has thrown 43 TD passes and no interceptions in his last 18 games? That's just incredible! And pertaining to the O Line, emphatically NO, he virtually does NOT ever have time to throw. He gets flushed out of the pocket area routinely, and most of the time, he still makes a play. Watch the first 2 or 3 seconds of virtually every pass play, and then tell me whether you think he is the one at fault/ whether he is merely taking too long out of indecision or hyper-caution or whatever, or whether he is running for his life because he gets less protection from his line than just about any QB.
KC has a pretty good pass rush, and I expect what I'm talking about will be dead obvious Monday night. However, I STILL expect the Packers to win without too much trouble just because Aaron Rodgers is so damn good.
And if we are fortunate enough to have him see the field a lot on offense, watch for Janis to catch a couple of TD passes too.
