Yeah, I don't even care about football right now. Super bummed, Jordy is my favorite player. I'll be good for week 1 probably but this sucks...

lol Crabtree is the exact same "slow possession type" of WR that you hate in regards to Davante.

I'm sorry you lost your favorite player...that does suck. Hopefully, you can find a new one in his stead. Janis is Jordy 2.0. Hopefully, you can find something you like in him.

I waded through just about every word of the 4 pages of this thread.

I guess there are different degrees of ACL tears. We sort of went through this with the Bulaga injury. It's possible Jordy might be back by the end of the season, but that's a long shot, especially with today's tendency to be overly cautious about things - heaven knows, the Packers are among the worst for that. The way he walked off the field gives slim hope, but more than likely, the best case is Nelson comes back undamaged next season.

As for this season: I HOPE the Packers do NOT even remotely consider any over age waste like those mentioned. We do NOT need Jennings, Jones, Wayne, Moss, or anybody else. Of all the positions where we could lose the best player, probably WR is the one where we are hurt the least. The Packers - I absolutely believe - are LOADED at Wide Receiver. Probably the ONLY silver lining to this disgusting turn of events is that we have to cut one less quality WR.

As was said, there are very very few "true #1" receivers who make the QB great. Nelson and Cobb, however, rise to the top level when catching Aaron Rodgers passes. There's no reason not to expect Janis and Adams to do the same (yes, in that order of likelihood). I could see a great future for Pinkard too, and without this injury, we very well might have lost him. Montgomery didn't look very good today, but he should be really good. Myles White looked more decent today than I have seen him, although I doubt we keep him. And then there's the name I didn't see in 4 pages of posts: Jared Abbrederis - at this point, he's still less than 50/50 to be a contributor, but he's not out of the running yet.

Also, we absolutely do NOT need to become a more run-oriented team. That would be just plain stupid. As great as Eddie Lacy is, if he is the MVP, it means he is getting way too many carries and the Packers are hurting themselves.

I do NOT see any reason at this point why the Packers can't still be a super team - the best in the NFL. The much bigger concern than WR is the weakness of the O Line IMO.

Very simple fix.

Trade the injured and perhaps forever tainted Jordy Nelson and aging Aaron Rodgers to the Raiders..... For Youth And Future Super Bowls.

Trade Jordy and Aaron for the greatest young Q.B. and receiver combination in the N.F.L.

The remarkable and beyond impressive Derek Carr and Amari Cooper.

A Brilliant Business Plan For Both Organizations.

Big Ole Smile.

Of course they're not #1's. I remember when Billy Schroeder got a huge contract from the Lions, and I laughed my ass off. He should have given Favre about 80% of that money.

Jordy and Cobb are very good players, but put them on a team with an average quarterback and they wouldn't sniff 600 yards.

James Jones just put up more yards than that with a rookie QB on the Raiders!

Would Jordy or Cobb put up the big numbers somewhere else? No. But they would most definitely put up well over 600 yards, most likely still hit 1,000.

To echo what TPB said above, I am more worried about LT than WR. I feel the depth can overcome Jordy. Bakhtiari? Not so much, based on Sunday.
