Now I have an image of trolls in thongs in my head. That's just sick!

As for his speed, I thought our TE coach summed it up nicely from JSOline.com:

"Obviously not blazing speed," Fontenot said. "But he does some very good things with his footwork and he's efficient with his movement.

Finley could beat Rodgers in most foot races...but in the exact same situation where Finley was less efficient in his movement and showed poorer footwork than Rodgers; Rodgers will be open more and will get greater separation further downfield than Finley.

Mike, or Barfarn... it remains to be seen if RR is able to get open consistently downfield. We've had a lot of promising TE's come through Packerland and I don't think one of them has ever really lived up to the expectation. I don't think there is much of an expectation with RR. DJ Williams...man, I got tired of waiting on him. Tyrone Davis, Bubba Franks, David Martin...Tory Humphrey...Brandon Bostick...Shoot, I was excited about Zac freaking Alcorn. We've not done well over the years at that position. I'd be surprised if we ever got Bubba Franks level of performance out of RR.

When a rental like Keith Jackson stands out as about the best you've seen with Finley, Jackie Harris, Chmura and Paul Coffman you haven't lit it up at that position over the years. Heck, Gary Lewis stands out at that position and all he did is block FG's.

The odds are not in his favor. He's be out in the hunger games right away.

The thing is I don't think we need a Gronk or Graham or Gonzo or Gates type TE (do we have any on the roster whose name starts with G? I'd keep him for sure) to be effective. Sure it would be nice but I think a Coffman or Chmura type would be sufficient. I'm not sure we have one of those though.

He did way, way WAY more than Finley did in his rookie year.

TO SUMMARIZE: Comparable speed, drafted in same round, did way more than Finley did as a rook, actually knows how to run routes (played WR in college) smart enough to understand the game plan without Aaron Rodgers having to take a special night before the game just to explain it to him, shuts his pie hole, does his job, does not proclaim he's "taking over the league" every year.

Damn, what's not to like?

That's why RR is better than all of them.

Saying RR is better than Finley is like saying Micah Hyde is better than Sam Shields and for about the same reasons.
