I'm not really sure what your point is on 40 times is? It remains as I said... guys who are paid a lot of money draft players higher with better 40 times. They have for years and it will be the same in the future. Pan the 40 all you like. You all would wish our skill players ran 4.3 instead of 4.5 or 4.6.

That Jerry Rice had a pretty good career. I could almost support him being in the hall of fame if only he had run a faster 40 at the combine.

So, speed (evidenced by 40 time) DOES remain important throughout a players career. Why do you like Sam Shields? Do you think you'd like him if he ran 4.6 RIGHT NOW?

Speed means something always and forever in the NFL. Jerry Rice was an excellent WR...imagine how much better he would've been had he been 4.3. Speed wasn't going to make him worse so you shouldn't act as if his lack of speed had no impact on his career. It did.

Lol whatever you say, I guess as long as you keep making little qualifiers and excuses for any of Davante's accomplishments while not applying the same treatment to Janis you'll always be right.

I do say it is nice being a Packers fan that we can actually have a multiple page debate on whether our 2nd round pick from the prior year has produced enough to warrant his 2nd round selection. I think the fact that there is a discussion pretty much answers it.

Back on topic, Davante Adams is fast enough. Jeff Janis is probably faster than fast enough. Hopefully he can use that to his advantage to get open against NFL starters when he gets his chance.

The guys who run real fast in their undies that one time. Speed isn't the enemy. It's a major asset that is highly desired.

There's no reason to be negative about Davante Adams. He has performed decently - about like you'd expect for a 2nd round pick. Calling him a steal, however, is a little bit extreme. It says something that this thread has become about as much about Jeff Janis as about Adams. It's too early to talk "steal" when discussing Janis, but I'd bet money he ends up having at least as good a career, probably better than Adams, and as a 7th round pick, THAT would be a steal.

Hopefully, I can find the piece because I know you won't take my word for it...he was dangerously close to not being drafted at all due to his POOR, and it was POOR 40 time. This is an issue. You can say it isn't because you don't want it to be but he lacks speed just like Jarrett Boykin.
