The Chicago Bears reportedly want to trade WR Brandon Marshall and it got me imagining having WR Jordy Nelson opposite Marshall.

Contract Details
2015: $7.5 million,
2016: $7.9 million,
2017: $8.3 million,
2018: Free Agent

What reasonable offer would you give the Bears to acquire Marshall? I think I'd want to rework his contract to be more incentive based, although, I prefer that with every player so that's not saying much.

And there's this...

I would wait for Bears to cut him, looking at his contract they might do so before the 12th of March.
If he does not get cut I would not be intrested.

If he does get cut, I would however be very intrested to the tune of 5-7m a year, depending on the length of the contract.

Considering the report that says there are only 22 players rated as 1st rnd players, I would offer them our 1st and 4th for Marshall and The Bears 3rd .
I've read where the value picks are in the 2nd and 3rd rnds this year.
Let Cobb go and watch Jordy excel in the slot.

I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

It wouldn't be the money that bothered me about this but the absolute cancer this guy is to a locker room. Living in Chicago, aside from Jay Cutler, all I ever hear about in Chicago media during the NFL season is how awful Marshall was to teammates in the locker room.

I don't buy his whole renewed image. He's a diva and when things don't go his way, he gets pissed off and doesn't play. Name a player on the Packers offense that currently does that. If we are going to talk about going after a veteran WR (which Ted Thompson has never done), I would go after AJ, not Marshall.

I also don't like the thought of giving up early draft picks for an offensive player, when the Packers really need to focus on getting instant starters on defense.

I'd trade them a 3rd for Marshall if we don't get Cobb re-signed. He's got a few good years left and if we lose Cobb we gotta get some more weapons for the offense.

I really despise the Dallas Cowboys. I would trade the Packers 5th rd pick to the Bears if we could then give Marshall to the Cowboys. He is a cancer. He is entering his 10th year in the league. His 9th year was one of his career worst. Which way is the arrow pointing? Is he going to get faster this year? Get healthier? But I would love to saddle Jerry with that salary for another used up cancer. Combining him with Dez would be a dream for the tabloids.

But on the Packers? Please no.

I've already voiced my opinion on Marshall in a previous thread. Is he talented? Sure. But there is a REASON that a guy that talented is about to be booted off his 3rd team in 9 years. Normally a great talent like that you would lock up and try to sign long term.

The Broncos had no interest in keeping him.
The Dolphins gave him to the Bears for 2 3rd rounders I believe? The Bears probably got taken on the deal.
Now the Bears want to dump him.

Whoever wants him would be smart to wait until he gets cut.

Whoever signs him needs to keep him on a very short leash and don't give him much guaranteed money, so they can cut his ass easily when he becomes a problem.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
