He ran a 4.56 at the combine and doesn't look much faster than that on the field to me.

But like Dodd said, he's a physical guy who can make catches and has some quickness to him.

Ted never seems to get stuck on the physical specimens at WR, but rather on the football players. Boykin is, indeed, an extreme example of that, but Cobb, Nelson, Jones and, indeed, Davante Adams, didn't show a whole lot at the combine, either.

No, I am NOT saying Davante Adams is Jerry Rice. I'm saying 40 times and speed do not negate greatness. Sterling Sharpe was great, wasn't fast.

That wasn't a trap, though. He had two hands on the ball going to the ground, had control of it cradled in his left hand going to the ground, and in my opinion, contact with the ground jarred the ball loose.

I get why they reversed the call. As the rule is written, it was the correct call. That said, I don't like the rule, common sense tells me that Dez, Megatron, and Brett Swain in the Super Bowl (slightly different aspect of the rule) all caught the ball.

Dez was establishing possession while going to the ground, he didn't have possession and than dive for the endzone. I can't think of a way to word the rule that would create better results.

The flip side is something you're getting at. How do you minimize subjectivity from defining a catch? It's like the force out rule. There are undeniably situations where a receiver gets hosed, but in most instances it's better than the alternative.

Nobody is talking about the bad call on Tramon for PI at the goal line when it was obvious the receivers feet got tangled up. The call basically gift wrapped that td. So how many calls does Dallas need to win the game?

The bottom line is Green Bay and Arod dominated the second half of the game and took it from Dallas. Even had they given the play to Dallas the way GB was moving the ball with 4 minutes left and only needing a FG to win I have little doubt they would have done so.

After the first drive of the second half the Packers were not stopped and that is why Dallas is going home and not because of one stinking play. When you lay your hat there when you had many chances to stop your opponent I don't feel very sorry for ya.

There are catches all the time in the game, that are not completed passes. It takes a catch plus fulfilling the rest of the criteria of a completed pass.

The only reason the Packers benefitted from this call was because Mike McCarthy challenged it. It was his last available challenge. Granted it was with ~4 min left and there was only 2 min of game to worry about.

Packers had 10 accepted penalties for 87 yards. Dallas had..... 5 penalties for 35 yards.

Packers did not get one call.
