The Lions came into the game No. 1 in the NFL in run defense and on pace for the sixth-best run-defending season in NFL history at 63.8 yards per game, and only the New York Jets, who ran it 27 times for 132 yards on Sept. 28, had stayed committed to the run against them.

Until Sunday.
