Linsley doesn't seemed to worried about it.

But for one miscommunication with Aaron Rodgers, who fortunately called a timeout just before Linsley prematurely snapped the ball, things ran smoothly between the two who had never worked together in a game before Thursday night. Rodgers lit into Linsley for his mistake, and the rookie understood.

"Obviously, he got on me like a leader should," Linsley said. "And I think that was our only one."

The Packers were not flagged for a single false-start penalty, which is a remarkable feat in one of the NFL's loudest stadiums.

"Corey did a great job," Rodgers said. "He did a really good job of protection. I thought the protection was really good inside and snaps were solid. He's learning. This is his first start, he’s a rookie, but I thought he held his own well. I think he can do a good job for us."

As long as Linsley and Rodgers are cool outside of the game and off the field, this is a complete non-issue that can be attributed to the heat of the moment and general frustrations. Anyone that can't relate to that in some way, especially in a big-time sports game, is a little out of touch, imo. If things start spilling out off the field, then perhaps I'll be a little worried. Otherwise, it's not worth crying over.

As for "hypocritical" people that bash Cutler, of course we bash Cutler. He plays for the Bears. That's an easy one. But if we truly wanted to be fair, I think he's comes across even worse than Rodgers and has done more extreme things more often (and honestly, has won less and isn't as good. That does matter to some extent). I don't care if the players on my favorite team are super great and amazing individuals. I just want them to be great and win games. Regardless, I don't necessarily fault Cutler for getting heated during a game. I'm confident that 99.9% of all NFL players understand and don't take it personally. And neither should the fans.

Moving on.

At least there is a clear leader on offense. Yeah he probably would take that one back but then again these are paid professionals and if they can't handle it well..that's a bigger problem then an occasional bark by their leader. It's not like he got on everybody for every poor play. That would not be what leaders need to do either.

One big problem on D is we don't have that stud player who is vocal and demanding. I thought maybe Daniels but in-game he seems like the others. Mostly just concentrating on getting his job done. Nothing wrong with that but the D needs that one guy that everybody looks to as the leader and who can get the entire unit going.

So I'm not gong to get over sensitive about the one leader they have on this team getting a little over the top once in awhile.

I remember reading about Vince Lombardi.
He knew which players needed to be handled delicately, and which needed to be jumped on and screamed at to get their attention.
A good leader knows these things.
These guys are pros, get paid hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars to do a great job, not just a so-so job.
It's hard for me to feel too sorry for a guy getting yelled at for one play.
Anyone that has ever worked a job has been yelled at, and I bet none of us got paid what these guys do.
If you are that thin skinned, you shouldn't be playing pro football.

He could handle it better in certain situations, but most employees can understand when someone is obviously under a lot of pressure and maybe just having a bad day. It can certainly become excessive, but I really don't think that's the case with Aaron Rodgers.

"What the hell's going on out here?"
-- Vince Lombardi.

This team needs more yelling, not less.

Wonder what would happen if Mike McCarthy -- or, better, Ted Thompson -- were to go into the locker room after this kind of game, and said,

"Okay. You guys. You're either a shit team or a team that plays like shit. When you are ready to be a team that makes other teams look like shit, come back to 1265 Lombardi Ave. Otherwise, stay home, play Madden, go to strip clubs, I don't give a fuck. I don't want to see you. I don't want to talk to you. I don't want to have anything to do with you.

It is not injuries and it is not this player or that coach.

It is a team failure. If you can't get it up any better than this, for the first game of the season against the World Champions, then I don't want to see any of you wearing green and gold.

You're shit."

Sorry, Cheesey, to me the time to be delicate is long past. I think this team -- including the entire coaching staff -- needs to be screamed at.

IMO, I'm not sure this team deserves to have self-esteem.

What it needs is, I dunno, someone like that guy from Full Metal Jacket. What was his name, Foster?

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Pretty sure we all have had moments of "WTF was I thinking" or something to that ilk. Rodgers also said that Corey took it the right way. I'm not sure what all of you are up in arms about. 😰

I didn't really mind it when Cutler yelled at players. The only issue I saw is that he looked like he was throwing a tantrum. QBs have chastised teammates since the position was invented.

I remember a friend of mine tell me about playing for the old Baltimore Colts. Back when they were a part of the NFL- pre merger. He was a rookie running back and they were playing one of their preseason games. Johnny U was at QB and called an audible which he didn't hear. He ran out to the flat and turned around only to discover the ball was just about to hit him in his facemask. It got there so fast he couldn't even get his hands up. He said if he had heard the audible he would have been expecting the ball and been a little more prepared.

He said when he got back to the huddle Unitas called him every name under the sun. Unitas told him if he didn't get up to speed he would never make it in the NFL. It was quite a shock to him but he said he needed to be chewed out.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
