The lack of cap space comments were DUE TO the retention of Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson. Cause and Effect my friend, cause and effect.

Man, Jordy Nelson is criminally underrated. Even by us packers homers!

Why do you feel that he is a #2 and not a #1?

I think 24 million is too much guaranteed. You would be looking at 6 million a year in dead money minimum. I'd be surprised at anything over 15 or 16 in a 4 year deal. If you assume he will be around for the first three years anyway no sense not making the base higher and reducing the guarantee if he goes for it. Take away 9 million in guarantees add 3 million to each of the first three year's base and you have the similar numbers (adds 750 k for the first three years and reduces by 2.2 million the last year) It makes much more sense to the Packers and it reduces the dead money for the last year if worse comes to worse and they have to cut him lose. It adds a bit to the cap the first three years but reduces your 15 million number in 2018. They can also figure in this year still if they really want to and use up some of this years cap space. On the other hand if your/my numbers are agreeable to both sides it might be better to use this years money on Cobb and Bulaga.

Still, as a basic outline and numbers in general I think you are in the ballpark of what will get done and I think its very agreeable for both sides as Jordy will net 30 million assuming he plays out the first 3 years and is cut or restructures after that.

Jennings is still the 9th highest paid WR in the league as far as average salary and that's after 2 consecutive injured seasons. He may have gotten less than he thought he would but I don't think it really lowered his earning power as much as you are trying to say it did.

From JSOnline.com:

In 2012, when Jennings was near the peak of his powers, a source said talks on a multiyear extension ended when he turned down $11 million per year from the Packers, which was far less than the $15 million that he told the team he was seeking.

But.... [boxing] Steve can't tell me that I'm wrong about Greg Jennings and the injury factor. The guy got less on the open market than he was offered as a Packer.

If you had to choose between Greg and Jordy a few years back, you don't have to now. Jordy over Greg. Jordy was younger.

It would've been interesting to see what happened at WR had we given Greg 11 mil. Where would that have left Jordy and Randall? I highly doubt Nelson is where he is today had Greg said yes a few years ago

Or, someone will state something that conflicts completely with known facts about the NFL or the Green Bay Packers. In your case, to save face, you now mock the source even though it's been reported on a reputable Packers website.

It wasn't a huge impact? Are you joking? Tell me what happened to Green Bay's offer? It went from 11 million to 8 million. I would say that is a HUGE impact. He lost nearly 30% of his original turned down offer.

If you show up to work on Monday and they tell you they want to pay you around 30% less than they were last week would you consider that not a huge loss? Surely, you would.

What I said is accurate and correct. Jennings was very much negatively impacted by his injuries. His earning power was heavily reduced. Randall may find the same thing already, due to last year, but even moreso if he suffers another injury this season and that would be very beneficial to the financial interests of the Green Bay Packers. To be clear, I'm not rooting for it or wish it to happen, rather I would look on the bright side should that situation occur.

Yeah, I had no reason to suggest Jimmy Graham and feigned concern about our solid TE group? I feigned concern about TT's inability to go for it and stand relatively pat after 3 failed playoffs in a row two of which ended in total embarrassment.

I post to disrupt dialog?...umm...no. wrong on point 2.

I post to undermine morale?...umm...no. wrong on point 3.

I point out problems that don't really exist? Like losing 30% of an original offer? umm... no, wrong on point 4.

My intent is to derail, stifle and control dialog? LMAO. The postings I put up and debate are the heaviest viewed and replied to on this forum...by far. My intent is the exact opposite. Just as it is in the aforementioned points save for morale which isn't a concern of mine at all.

As to the last point... being viewed as insincere or condescending? That is something I can't speak to...if that is how you view it that is how you view it.

Your allegation here was about as accurate as your using a couple of stats to suggest Boykin was Jeffery's equal.

It is amazing the things that have been hurled in my direction since showing up here when the sole issue rests upon inaccurate and misguided posts not made by me.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.

Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Hey i didn't know we could trade picks in fantasy
