It's hysterical to read all these posts about how we're going to have all this cap space all of a sudden, when in the Graham thread it was exactly the opposite refrain. Fear Jordy's going to leave and your commentary does a 180.

Jordy is right to want this... he probably feels he's Greg Jennings equal if not superior so why would he take less than Jennings? I'm sorry...at 10 million per, I'm letting this season play out and hope he gets injured to reduce his price or the market shows him like it showed James Jones a few years back that the money ain't out there. Minnesota shouldn't be able to jump in to grab him like they probably would if they hadn't already given what they gave to Greg.

If Jordy doesn't take less than this, I'd let him walk and make sure we re-sign Randall. Pray Adams is something...Boykin is a steady performer. Janis and Abby might have something to them and you know if Jordy goes Ted Thompson will bring in a quality vet via FA! ????

Greg Jennings got hurt during his contract year after reportedly refusing a big money deal from us. It wasn't anything too major but it reduced his earning power. Something like that would be best for Green Bay if you want to be able to sign him at an affordable contract.

I would say the same thing of Randall Cobb. Him suffering another injury would be beneficial to our ability to lock him up for a lot less. I don't want him hurt but it'd be the best thing for the financial side of it for the Packers.

Jordy really can't afford to get injured at his age just like Greg couldn't...it cost Greg and it would cost Jordy. Do you want to have to pay Jordy 10 million to keep him or would you like to lose him to injury for a few games and get him back for significantly less?

I'm betting Jordys agent is behind this 10 mil number and that Ted, Jordy and his agent will hammer out a fair contract that will pay Jordy what he is worth, and will be cap friendly to the Packers.

These contracts are all about signing bonuses and guaranteed money. The rest is "agent window dressing".

4 yrs, 12 mil signing bonus, another 12 mil guaranteed, that can all be spread out, base salary, 1 mil in 2015, 2 mil in 2016, 3 mil in 2017 and 9 mil in 2018.

2015 7 mil cap hit, 2016 8 mil cap hit, 2017 9 mil cap hit, 2018, 15 mil cap hit. By 2018 15 mil might not seem that much for a #1 WR. There's always restructure.

That's just a real basic outlay, but I believe when they get the contract done it will look real similar.

Maybe they'll just let these guys play out their contracts and make a choice between Nelson and Cobb. The Packers are like a wide receiver factory anyway. It has a lot more to do with Rodgers than the receivers. I wouldn't consider either Nelson or Cobb a legitimate #1 receiver anyway. We haven't had that guy since Javon Walker, but he was dumb as a post and not worth the big contract either.

I think we have hard truth to face fellow Packers fans, the Packers field a bunch of #2 wide receivers and they are all interchangeable. There is a reason we drafted 3 wideouts this year.
