how many TE do we usually carry?

I dont think Lyerla can be stashed, other teams would love to snatch him without costing a draft pick.

They will have 5 or 6 WR with Janis being on the bubble.

4 RB including Kuhn. Will Franklin be able to play if so Harris may the the odd man out.

They probably need 3 QB because they won't be able to put Tolzien on the PS and I think they would like to develop him. But he may be the one they let go.

If Linsley can handle the LS duties they can release Goode.

But before it all the first question is can Lyerla remain consistent and not go Jekyll and Hyde.

I hope they move the first cut down date a little bit because of the late draft. Congrats to this Colt kid too.

Most of these TEs are scrub/STers anyway. Hopefully things will shake out well for us. It still seems like Ted reached a little in this draft, although his history signing "gem" undrafted free agents and giving them a real shot to play probably helped us sign this guy. Now it's up to him, whether he wants to be a pro.

"We have always believed that, or I have always believed that there are certain things that people can atone for, acknowledge their mistakes and get on with their lives," Thompson said last weekend during the Packers rookie orientation camp. "And I am a proponent of those kind of people that try to do that. And that's where we're at with Colt."

Thompson and his staff no doubt spent hours looking into Lyerla's issues -- from his controversial tweets in which he suggested that the Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut was a government conspiracy to his premature departure from the Oregon football team to his arrest for possession of cocaine -- and believed, like Robinson and Jolly before him, that Lyerla would be able to function in the Packers' system.

All I can say is anyone who calls themselves a Donald Driver fan had better not be against this guy because of the drug issue. I'm speaking only on the drug issue. The tweets and other stuff may be a different story

I don't think there are many who have a problem with this signing.

Hopefully the young man realizes what Ted has done for him, considering 32 teams passed on him in the draft, 32 teams passed on immediately signing him as an UDFA and 31 teams passed on giving him a tryout.

He was the 90th guy signed to fill out a 90 man roster, hopefully he learns real fast that using the different "social media" outlets is not going to get him anywhere.

I think we all will find out real quick whether this guy is serious about being a ball player, I said it earlier, time to grow up.

Wish him all the luck in the world, he could be something special in a year or 2, if not sooner, he just needs to do the work.

I assume they ran him past a few veterans, who got him away from the facilities and hung out with him for awhile. Then they assessed him based on how that went. So I assume he did not present himself as a crazy person. Yet. lol
