It would be so easy after this disappointing season to go a little crazy in the offseason,

I wish the Raiders had gone a little crazier and screwed the pooch a bit more. Would love Williams/Asomugha following in Woodson/Harris' footsteps.

Has anyone ever heard Ted Thompson called arrogant, stupid, and/or ego driven? There is an alternative explanation. There is a possibility he is low profile, highly intelligent, and wise. I have stated that wisdom is a quiet avocation, and suspect very strongly that we are blessed with a GM in possession of said attribute.

Tidbit:

Ted Thompson graduated from SMU with academic all-southwest conference honors.

A fair-minded person would at least contemplate this.

I'm not saying that everyone here hasn't, I'm just sayin'...

I love Ted's approach. Sure, I wish I knew more. But I trust him. Going off what Foster said: yes, I think Ted is wise. And he's not showy or flamboyant. I have a big personality, and when I meet new people who are quiet or shy, I tend to label them as stuck-up or arrogant, assuming that they think they're "too good" to waste their time with me. I think that's the reaction a lot of people have with Ted Thompson.

I was happy to hear the comments (non-comments) that Teddy made. Especially those about free agency not being any more urgent this year than in the past and that the team has a solid foundation.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I really believe that if you run this exact same team out on the field next year, they win 11 games. I'd bet a month's pay on double digit victories.

I do think a couple free agents should and will be added to the mix, but none of them will be named Haynesworth, Peppers, Gross, or Suggs. And I think that's a good decision. The first 3 are going to command huge - possibly record breaking - salaries. Suggs won't come cheap and I don't think he's a 4-3 DE. At least not enough of one to justify paying what he'll ask for.

I'm in favor of guys along the same lines as Bert Berry. I think he's a perfect fit, as stated in other posts. Veteran. Pass Rusher. Inexpensive. Allows you to leave Cullen outside on running downs.

There are other that we already know will be free agents, but a lot of new guys names will surface come 2 rounds of cap casualties. Jason Taylor to name one would be very intriguing as a situational pass rusher.

I know it's frustrating for a lot of fans to watch their teams sit on the sidelines of free agency for the most part, but time and time again it proves to be the best strategy - albeit a bit boring. Maybe I'm just used to it as a fan of the Twins.

I agree with you, but I wouldn't put it out of question that Ted Thompson will not sign a big name like Haynesworth. I'm not saying he will, but I am saying he might.

I would take that bet lol. Its not like we have a gravy schedule next year. We don't have that great of a team.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

As far as Haynesworth i hope we don't get him he can't stay healthy why waste money on an injury prone dt? Don't we do that already?

How in the hell can you evaluate a team that will turnover 10 to 30 percent of the roster?

What type of player do we nab in the draft? Free Agent?

Come on DH.. you know that is a BS statement in January.. you have no idea at this point what additions will be made.

We were in every game this season.. with chances to win almost every single one of them bar the Saints game.. how can you dress the team down so badly.. win half of the second half struggles and we are 8-8 to 9-7... is two more wins on top of that unrealistic?

If we draft say Harrell in a later round.. will your prediction change?

I love the evaluations in January.. that is about equal to stating that we will win the superbowl next year.. we have little idea what the landscape of the league will look like next year..

Fan Shout
Zero2Cool (3h) : Packers were not selected for the 2025 Hall of Fame game.
dfosterf (5h) : PFOW Out of our division would be a good thing imo
Zero2Cool (7h) : Jameson Williams is done at 24 years old? What? He's a WR, not QB. I'm missing something here haha
wpr (7h) : Tomorrow is almost here.
packerfanoutwest (8h) : would you want him if Pack needed a back up qb?
packerfanoutwest (8h) : JW is done......stick a fork in him
Zero2Cool (9h) : You should. He goes to AFC that helps Packers.
packerfanoutwest (20h) : don't care
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Lions shopping Jameson Williams?
packerfanoutwest (22-Apr) : Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Green Bay’s roster can win, even without adding anyone in the draft.
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : It's a poor design. New site has SignalR like our gameday chat
wpr (22-Apr) : Ah today's Shout was very quick to post.
wpr (22-Apr) : now 3
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Who? What?
beast (22-Apr) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?
Martha Careful (21-Apr) : meh
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : Sounds like Walker and Wyatt will be with Packers for beyond 2026
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : It's so awesome.
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : new site fan shout post fast
wpr (21-Apr) : Slow posting in Fan shout.
wpr (21-Apr) : Only 4
wpr (21-Apr) : Only 4
Zero2Cool (21-Apr) : If only we had a topic to read about and discuss it. That's something new website must have!!!
dfosterf (21-Apr) : Justice Musqueda over at Acme Packing put up an excellent synopsis of the Packers 1st round options this am
wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
