ESPNs Ed Werder reports that the pain in Brett Favres right shoulder is from a biceps tear and some calcification in the area

If you watched the entire season, Favre was looking pretty good up until about week 13. There were some folks (myself included) saying he was a possible MVP candidate at that point. Then it all went downhill and went downhill fast. If you watched his last game, he was bad, really bad. His three INTs were all bad throws, completely off.

I'm wondering if this is why. A biceps tear in the right arm would definitely throw off a QB's accuracy.

Wow....a bicep tear? That sounds like some excruciating pain. And to think what it would be like to play through that. Wow, he's tough.

It think his career is over, unfortunately.

If dude has a biceps tear, even throwing a Wiffle Ball would be impressive.

So yeah, if that's the case it would more than explain his late-season troubles.

He's also 39 yrs old, played 16 full season's. That's enough right there. It's over, he just needs to admit it. He should have stuck with his decision last March.

This will give him cause to return.. that and he was feuding the Mangini late in the year..

Honest question to the Jets and Favre himself.. if this is the case and the reason for his slide in play.. then why not insert Clemens into the game?

Not trying to start something here.. but honestly.. that would be difficult to throw the ball with much on it.. puzzling?

Favre has stated that his consecutive starts record is the most precious to him. He'd be loath to do anything that would endanger it.

Would a healthy Clemens be better than an injured Favre? I'm assuming yes, considering the 9 INTs vs 2 TDs. I actually watched at least part of those games, and he looked off. Something was definitely wrong.

It was like watching two different QBs - the guy at Week 12 and before and the guy after Week 12.

I am not sure how long this has been bothering him, but I guarantee that he aggravated it in that last game. He attempted a tackle after an INT and he landed pretty much the same as Rodgers did against Tampa. Weight on his outstretched arm.

They showed him a bunch on the sideline holding and rubbing his shoulder area.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I can speak from personal experience: bicep insertion tears are extremely painful and make many activities unpleasant or downright difficult.
