sucks. but maybe this will be a good thing for him. he said he doesn't want to undergo surgery in order to keep playing. maybe this will kind of force him to not play. i know it's not my place, but i think he needs to stop playing football. for the sake of his body. for the sake of his legacy. for the sake of his mental health. the man needs to move on.

Brett will get the surgery. Only because it will be to painful to swing his golf clubs.

"longtimefan" wrote:

How much golf does he do now a days?

"PackFanWithTwins" wrote:

I'm sure not as much as he would like to. The shoulder injury will also limit his strength when drawing his bow hunting.

Well he did quit the GB club a few years ago cuz he was hardly golfing anymore

No one knows for sure when he tore it. So it's hard to say how much of the "Bad Brett" was caused by the tear.
Again though, if it was THAT painful, he should have taken himself out for the sake of the TEAM. If you know you are doing more harm then good, why destroy your team for personal gain?

Again, you haven't seen the Jets' backups. If the coaches felt they had a better chance with their backups, it's their job to take him out not his. His job is to show up and give everything he has until they decide he can't do the job.

Then they must be gawd awful. Cause watching Brett was painful. He looked lost out there.
And i say that with love. I care about him, and he just was BAD.

Maybe I'm backwards in thinking this but I would assume that there's a better chance of seeing Brett return if he wasn't injured.

My line of thinking is that Brett may still have the skills to give it another crack next season and I'm sure there'll be at least some sort of team that will think Brett's an upgrade. But if I were in Brett's position and I learned that I've torn my bicep muscle and that there's calcification in my shoulder, I'd think hell, I don't want to do permanent damage to my body by staying out there too long.

I'm also sure there are teams that would want him. There are 10 QB's in the league that had a lower passing rating them Favre had, so i'm sure someone in that group would give him a shot.

They were. Brett Favre on crutches bleeding out of both ears is still better than the Jets backups. And yes, Brett was bad. I watched (and winced) at the games. And this is coming from someone who was screaming "Brett Favre for MVP" after the Titans win.
